Ever gone an extra mile to play THAT game?

Okay so I just bought Valkyria Chronicles yesterday and here is the fun part, I don't even own a ps3. The thing is that I made a deal with my friend to borrow his ps3 console for the duration of the vacation. But I still find it hard to believe that I went out and bought a game several days before I could even play it.

Have you ever gone this extra mile to get a game you really want?

Replace Valkyria Chronicles with "Super Smash Bros. Brawl", "yesterday" with "on release date", and "PS3" with "Wii".
I didn't make a deal to borrow my friend's Wii though. He just came over and we played for hours on end. Beat the singleplayer mode in one sitting, I believe.

I rented the N64 way back when just to play Ocarina of Time on it. And then begged my dad to let me rent them both for another week because I hadn't finished the game.

Why didn't you just ask for a Ps3?

They are expensive and I need to use my presents to get new computer parts. Also Valkyria is a game I'd buy the ps3 to play, but its also the only game I'd buy for it. Luckily I can manipulate my friend quite easily (Don't take that to seriously).

Beating Gauntark Legacy as a friken Archer on the gamecube took me two weeks, I had to rent it 7 times.

I was more thinking Heavy Rain and White Knight Chronicles....

Why....... You had to didn't you? Why do you have to make me regret not having a ps3? I'd forgotten those for a reason.

I once drove about a hundred miles to get a game I had already preordered at my local gaming store because a store in Long Beach had received it first. I then drove back home and started playing.

Sadly, it was Victoria, which is probably Paradox's most unnecessarily complicated and non-intuitive game.

I own Ocarina of Time on Virtual Console, but I wanted one of the first copies for N64 for my 10th Anniversery playthrough (which I recently completed). Unfortunately, the pawn shop in my area was closed that day.

Same deal is about to happen again. I own Twilight Princess for Wii, but I ordered the Gamecube version from Gamefly so I could play it the way it was always meant to be played.

When I was a kid I would go over to the house of this kid who I absolutely hated, I could not stand him, he was a douche.

The only reason I put up with him was so that I could play his Playstation 2, and Kingdom Hearts. I then obtained a PS2 of my own that christmas, so all was well.

I've bought a couple of games that, at the time, I knew that I would be unable to play them for a week or so. I was just so excited about the game that I bought it anyway just for the chance to read the booklet.
