nope, i could always react fast enough, the stairs in my parents house were pretty noisy.

Luckily now I'm almost 20 and have a proper boyfriend she suddenly decided that it's wrong to interrupt us so I don't have to deal with her randomly barging into my room without any thought that maybe I closed the door for a fucking reason.

Oh, but she still hasn't grown out of her thought that knowing what me and my boyfriend are up to but still knocking on my door during said activities to ask me questions, then refusing to go away until I answer, or getting pissy with me if I shout at her.

Last week I had my girlfriend over and one of her friends decided to call us from her phone and my friend's phone BECAUSE SHE WAS BORED. I saw the funny side, but found out today that she was trying to intervene between me and my girlfriend. If it ever happens again, I'm punching her in the face.

I feel sorry for you. My parents don't really come upstairs much when I have my girlfriend over (she's usually here when they're at work) but my sister is bad for this kinda thing. Had an hour alone with the missus, my sister decides to come into my room, lie on my bed and talk to us for the entire hour. She wouldn't move when I tried to get her out either, I would have inflicted violence.

My girl's parents, however, are amazing with this kinda thing. They've given her advice about contraception and stuff, and also knock before they enter her room when I'm there! If only my parents were like that...

You might wanna make sure they don't go too overboard. Parents being too fine with these kind of situations can be just as bad, if not worse, than ignorantly stumbling through and wrecking shit.

In fact I remember an abysmal 'boyfriend meeting my parents' dinner where questions of size, positions and 'roughness' ended up being fired across the most awkward table that's ever existed, just because my parents "didn't want me to get into anything I couldn't handle". That's right, they embarrassed by pretty-much brand new boyfriend half to death because they love me.

Yeah, my personal stories about my parents are always borderline traumatising. and I have many of them... it's a miracle I'm not in therapy any more.

Really? I don't see any problem with that. I'm 35, and both my parents still think nothing of walking out of the shower and drying off right in front of me while continuing a conversation, if they happen to be showering when I go visit.
