I met a guy at a Christmas party who was old enough to be my dad and he was a big Fallout fan and I started talking about New Vegas for ages with him... while simultaneously blanking the attractive girl next me. It is little wonder I am single.

I actually have a few at the moment. I saw one walking around with a Mario themed t-shirt, and another talking passionately about his first contact with games, which was Day of the Tentacle. Yeah it's that kinda college course.
...Is it a bad thing that I looked up "Day of the Tentacle" and expected it to be a, um, "classic" hentai game?

And what sort of college course is it?
That's exactly what a friend of mine responded with when I asked him if he had ever played it before.

OT: One of mine loved Monkey Island and told us about a particular rhythm game relevant to our country's politics. Oh dear.

My science teacher once referenced Half-Life. My old Form tutor also was a big fan of FF7.
That's about it though.

I'm currently in a games development course too, but only 1 of my lecturers actually plays games regularly... the other three just played Pacman once around 30 years ago... You would of thought that they'd actually have to know about the subject to teach it but no... apparently not.

I have some students who are playing games that I like. In my school days I had 2 teachers who where playing games, those were the teachers who always brought their marked tests back very late. I liked them very much, but they weren't that popular...

My current Global Studies teacher constantly makes weird mid-lecture references to games, especially Assassin's Creed.

My AP Physics teacher in High School really liked Final Fantasy 12 and Starcraft. He was in his mid-thirties and we enjoyed him a lot.

Yep, only a few though but geek teachers kick ass. Plus I've learned of the different species of geek: the jock geek, the cool geek, geek classic, Genius geek, the every geek, and nice little species I call the Muslim geek(a geek incredibly devoted to a specific genre or material like Star Trek or [insert name of anime about a kid overcompensating with a giant sword here]) and the creep geek. Thankfully, if this may sound weird to say forgive me, the next generation of workers/teachers/doctors/lawyers will be geeks. Yes, geeks are a superior race to the inferior normals, or reign is soon.

Oh yeah, my world history teacher last year is probably an even bigger gamer than me. One of my favorite things about his class was that every friday after that weeks test he would give a "nerd bonus question of the week." And now that we started a video game club at school that he sponsors we get to talk about gaming every week.

Had a supervisor who thought himself a hardcore gamer, was only really a consolefag tho. Played things like Black Ops and thought Fallout was boring and gay.

Couple guys at work are the same, dont understand how gaming on a PC works.

My classical languages teacher was always recommending me games. And I have to thank him for introducing me to Age of Mythology.

Well there was this one drama teacher I had who mentioned playing Fallout New Vegas during his lecture about how much entertainment has evolved over the centuries. He talked about how there were hundreds of recorded lines of dialogue. I'm not sure if he is as into video games as I am, but it was nice to know that he enjoyed them as well.

My current SOSE teacher has a PS3 and plays Call of Duty. I can't say if that's a good thing or not.
