I lost my faith in humanity about a month ago when a girl in my class told me about a certain kind of rape, where the rapist kills an infant by raping it in the soft spot.

Everytime I see one of these threads it just draws a load of people who think: 'I hate everyone I must be special.'

I haven't lost faith in humanity, I know lots of good people and humanity is capable of great things. We may be animals in essence but we are definately more advanced. Lighten up guys.

I lost my faith in humanity long ago. Then, when I thought the world couldn't get any stupider, something happens that just makes me die a little inside.

don't help. Seriously, if your belief in humanity hangs on one music group, how weak are you.

Every day, I see humanity sink away a little deeper. *sigh...*

Oh well, can cry about it or do something about it. Me, I'm going to pay a visit to some game critics and see how violent a gamer can get *cocks shotgun*.

I used to be foolish enough to have faith in humanity, but I was a teenager and kind of naive. College, work, and more contact with the general public (vs. the 300 or so members of my graduating class, my family and my teachers) has taught me that humanity is worthless.

It's funny no one's mentioned either the holocaust or nuclear weaponry.

Because, you know, most of the crap on here really pales in comparison.

Kind of depends on how you describe humanity. There's good humans and there's bad ones. Also while I do feel most people could be described as "good", I don't think that means they're always "right".

It's one of the main disadvantages I see in democracy: it implies the people are actually fit to "govern" over themselves, but I don't necesarily agree. Do people always elect the best? Not really.
It's like a quote credited to Churchill, whether or not he said it, the argument stands: The biggest argument against democracy is a five minute discussion with the average voter.

Ofcourse it's not like most of the alternatives are very attractive.

OK, I may be an idiot, but humanity will prevail. Science will lead us out of the darkness. Think Science as a torch, and humanity as creatures who have never seen light. They are still quite blinded, but soon, their eyes will settle.

Constantly. Humanity as a whole is not worth having any faith in. Some may be worth it but most are nothing more than cannon fodder.
