I have, it was a game on the sega megadrive where you were a ghost I believe with spiked hair or mohawk, punk looking anyway i think. You had to scare the occupants of the house away, and could take control of numerous items, like chainsaws and cars, using them to frighten the occupants. I bought ghost master off steam thinking this may be a port of it, but its not. Annoys me greatly not knowing what that game was, lots of fun.

To everyone who alludes to the meme of having "lost the game",
That was not my intention.
And objectively, it only really works if you yourself think you have. ,)
Apologies for any misconceptions.
I know you didn't mean it like that and for me it was just a little joke between a few friends at school that sort of evolved but what really did it for me was people saying that they'd lost the game and me then thinking about it.

Sir,
If you may I recommend the game "Zangband"?
It's freeware on sourceforge. It's a little like an updated moria.
It's a simple looking, tile-based adventure with litterally millions of maps, monsters, traps and loot.
Thank you for the tip.
I am however already familiar with that game.
And it is indeed a nice variant of angband.
May I in turn recommend IVAN, also on sourceforge, to you?
You may also wish to look up Magus and Nethack while you are at it.

To be frank, I actually meant the post to be more directed to the poster below you,
as he did not make any sort of joke or try to lighten it up somewhat.

And also, to the new posters who might take offense if seeing all the other posters referring to it.

To Hades indeed. ,)

Starcraft. I lent it to a classmate, and a month later he vanished of the face of the earth.
To this day I have no idea what happend to him, and neither does any of my other friends, but I personally belive he and his family are proffesional hustlers who make a living by loaning stuff from people and then skipping town.

I want my shiny magical adventure :(
I think I found it actually.
Though there are many similar ones, this one filled almost all of the prerequisites;

Otherwise you can check out "list of games with female protagonists" at the bottom. ,)
Woo! Awesome! Seriously, I can't believe you found it. I've had that list open on start up of firefox for months, thought I'd gone through every one of them (for research for a paper). Must have missed this one. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Woo!

Now to just find someone who sells it :p

Damnit.. I was doing so well too.

I've never "lost" a game, but I've had quite a few stolen as well as my old Dreamcast.

I lost Pokemon Silver.

This wouldn't be a problem, if Silver wasn't the other definition of my childhood.
Same...:( I might buy it from ebay....

my two biggest losses were Tie Fighter Collectors CDROM, and Starcraft/brood wars. I've also lost Xwing Collectors CD... I'm still hunting for Tiefighter, and a way to get it to work on this computer.

You, sir, are a dastardly bastard! Making all of these lovely people lose The Game.

On topic, I had a copy of Dr.Mario for the gameboy that I've not seen in about 8 years...As a PC gamer, I don't have to worry about losing any PC games, because we have these things called *cracks* that we use

Ive lost about 7+ these being:

Emperor:Battle for Dune`s manuel which had the CD-Key when I moved house.
007:Agent Under Fire for the Game Cube, which I had on top of the console when I was switching disks and I must of forgot that the top opened up and this caused it to fall behind a cabinet.
The rest of these games being a case of GameBoy chips and the GameBoy itself which I lost on holiday not to sure how many there was in it.
