Any game that is an FPS that shouldn't be an FPS perfect example Syndicate I am sure if they made a game that was like the original or at least the same fucking genre as the original it would have sold so much better.

Basically I would like to see more of what xcom did, they released a trailer for an fps it was shit they then released a trailer for a turn based strategy game and people loved it, i dont know the numbers but I hope to god xcom sold really well.

Like many others, id like to see Call of Duty gouge the earth with its face. Along with EA Sports titles, and Skylanders.

That last one especially makes me sick.

Well, the new Lara Croft is obviously the game I'm rooting to fail in misery, and the only thing that's stopping my bitterness from driving me mad and turning me towards voodoo and looking up black magic and curses on google search is the undeniable fact that if the game did fail as miserably as I wanted, a whole lot of people would probably be getting canned because of it.
You are aware the new tomb raider is wildly different to the past games right?

I actually want to see The Last of Us fail miserably. I actually have no idea why, but I want it to suck. I wanted NFS MW to suck, and luckily, it did. The first one was great, and I knew Criterion would fuck it up. Also, I'm out for blood against Activision for shutting down Eurocom and greedily hogging Crash's license. Although, I suppose it's better that they have it and aren't using it...
Need for speed sucked? I thought it was ok :) Better than the last most wanted, the handling was broken in that game.

I don't think an isometric point and click would cut it today :/

They certainly should make it squad based and bring back the research though. Something more like rainbow six could work i think.

Despite there being several games I dislike, I don't want to see any game fail. Be less successful maybe, but not fail. That's a pretty harsh thing to wish upon a group of developers. "Hey I don't like your game. I want to see you lose millions and probably have to fire people."

Call of Duty/Battlefield. I want them to stop being so insanely profitable. I want them to stop /making the games/, more than anything, I guess.

Halo 4. Halo should have ended at 3 and... here we go. Milking the cash cow. And bringing back Master Chief, to boot.

And, of course, Diablo III, for reasons which should be obvious.

Anyways, I hate Lara Craft. I hate everything she represents. I mean... when they created her, the developers pretty much thought "You know how Indiana Jones would have been more baddass? If he was a she and had stonking great tits and 90s "fuck the world in a nonchalant way" attitude. Yeah wouldn't that be better.
The below comments are regarding the very first Tomb Raider:

1. Lara's large breasts were initially an accident, when the guy programming the model for her accidentally added another '0' to her chest size. They decided to keep them like that as a joke. They did not anticipate that Lara's bust would be so heavily focused on.

2. Making a female Indiana Jones was the cleverest thing to do. It differentiated the two, as opposed to Tomb Raider being some sort of carbon copy.

3. Lara's attitude in the 1st game was perfect.

4. It was how the rest of the world perceived Lara Croft that you should be angry about, not the games. The first game is a classic. I still play it on the PC to this day. Way before Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and Dark Souls were telling stories largely through visuals, Tomb Raider did so.

I do, however, dislike pretty much all the sequels as THEY pretty much are what you said. But I believe your resentment is wrong. It's not the developers you should be angry at, but the gaming/ world press that decided to focus on her physic. When you look at early previews of the game when it was being released on the Sega Saturn first, there was no emphasis on Lara's bust or attitude, but the fact that the game was absolutely ground breaking at the time. Locations were massive, had clever puzzles, the controls, at the time, were better than most 3D games, and there was depth.

EDIT: OH, AND FOR ME...

It's, of course, pretty much every major Nintendo franchise.

I'm aware these guys have talent. But I want Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, games which are far too safe, unimaginative and mediocre as they are, to fail so that maybe they will squeeze out some new material. And before anyone suggests, no, a new way of controlling Mario, Zelda, etc isn't imaginative or innovative.

To compare, Sega were at their peak when they were failing i.e. the Dreamcast. The wiimote's were the offspring of Samba De Amigo's maraccas, you had games like Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, Monkey Ball (in the arcades), Jet Set Radio, Chu Chu Rocket, Seaman Phantasy Star Online... had it lasted longer, we would've seen a Dreamcast version of Gunvalkyrie where you used the pad to move and a lightgun to aim. that would've been interesting. And of course, they were first major home console to have online gaming.

The Saturn had games like Knights into Dreams, Virtua Fighter, and Burning Rangers too. In the space of a few years, Sega were more creative than Nintendo have been in about 2 decades. therefore, there's no excuse for what games Nintendo are releasing other than to squeeze as much milk out of safe franchises.

Only in a kidding sort of way to satisfy my selfish whims. I don't actually want them to fail because it's peoples jobs on the line and they need to support their families.

I wanted WoW to fail at launch so we'd get a proper Warcraft 4...
I wanted SWTOR to fail as we get a proper KOTOR 3...
I want the Skyrim MMO to fail so they rework the franchise and give us a better non-MMO Elder scrolls...

Franchises that I loved keep turning into grind heavy MMO's.

Not really. I figure if there's someone who will like it, who am I to say it should fail?

Uhm....not sure how to break this to you, but that's exactly what they did. They made an actual turn-based strategy X-Com game, with research, development, all that jazz, and it's actually a very good game. Buggy, but good.

Every game blizzard has released in the last few years since I have a personal vendetta against them, and the drm on d3 pisses me off and it would be nice to see that kinda shit finally stop people from buying something.
I have to agree. The fact that Diablo 3 was so successful just shows other companies that it's possible to get away with that crap, when it really shouldn't be. Although I must say Blizzard's explanation for not having LAN in Heart of the Swarm pisses me of more. "LAN isn't in our business philosophy!" Then your business philosophy is shit and only serves your pipe dreams of what you think a game should be instead of what people actually want. If Blizzard had their heads any further up their asses, they would be choking on their own skulls.

Yeah Resident Evil 6. I wanted to see it fall and fall hard...how is it doing any way?
"Resident Evil 6 continues to generate repeat sales in Japan and overseas. Furthermore, initial shipments set a new record for a Capcom title. So this game has been successful to some degree,"

It outsold the lifetime sales of Resident Evil 5 as well.
The company got the message though. People want more Resident Evil, but they don't want more Resident Evil 6.

I wanted the Shadowrun FPS to fail, and it did :D :D :D.

What if it had been successful? Would Microsoft been willing to part with the IP? And then would we have Shadowrun Returns? I doubt it. So thank you, everyone, for letting that abomination fail spectacularly.

I'd like absolutely no one to buy the next Call of Duty game- it would be a nice wake-up call to Activision, telling them to maybe start innovating a little more...

I always hope that halo games fail, and actually after all the HL3 and HL2 talk and how I dont play them I hoped it failed because it just got entirely boring and nauseating to hear it or any other HL/valve related games.

Though looking now and how long its being delayed, I think i may have had too much hope in it.

When MMOs were starting out, I was like, "That's never gonna take off. Why would you pay a subscription for a game you already paid for? This is gonna flop so hard!" I wish that happened. It's paying more for inferior gameplay, IMO. I've never tried an MMO that wasn't incredibly boring to play.

Call of Duty so everyone can stop trying to copy them.

Any annual series, that means you, Assassins Creed.

Elder Scrolls Online. The GI article basically described WoW. Then they're like, "It has rich lore though, guys. It's totally Elder Scrolls branded! The countries have the same names and everything, wowee!". And I'm like, "Whoopee...you pasted another set of skins on WoW, here's your participation trophy."

The original Crysis, since back then, every interview I read, everything I heard from those guys, they sounded so up themselves and pretentious about thier graphics and what their engine could do and bla bla bla, petty I know but it really irked me...

... then I bought the game and fell in love with it, damn you Crytek!

I know this, great game ^_^

What i meant to write was a REAL TIME one like the original syndicate wouldnt cut it. If they made it turn based it might work. But then it would probably just be a cyberpunk xcom. <--- that sounds good actually :p
