On occasion they do. Read George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire and you will see that bad people quite often win.

I love it when bad guys win. Usually they are more orderly, more prepared, and much more powerful. They should almost always win.

I really wanted the "bad guys" to win in Avatar.

Me too. I freakin hated those giant smurfs.

What really, really got to me was that Jake stated saying things like he was actually one of them. At that point I just wanted the general to burst through the bushed and rip his fake head off.

Same here, though I almost always side with the "bad guys" in stories like Avatar.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth? Well, even if you finish it you don't 'win' as such.

Something I'd actually like to see? Maybe a sequel to Doom 3 where the marines from D3 and the expansion both failed, and Hell made it to Earth. Maybe Hellsing where the Major wins the war.

I'd love to see the Helghast win. Reading the history of the conflict, it really blurs the lines as to who is right and who is wrong.

That and fuckin Rico.

How about a scenario where the Helghast agree to peace, only if they can do horrible, unspeakable things to Rico?

I kind of want Gargamel to capture 2 smurfs actually: One he and his pet Cat could eat, the other he could turn into gold. Cause he's spent his entire life just trying to get Smurfs, and I just feel sorry for him that he can never ever win. I mean, it's not like they can't have 2 new smurfs added when 2 get caught by Gargamel.

This happens frequently in Doctor Who (like The Master with the Toclafane) but eventually it all gets put right, even if it means rebooting the universe by flying the strongest prison in the cosmos into an exploding TARDIS at every point in time simultaneously...

It makes good stories so it should be done more often.
