I've been called an idiot for expressing the opinion that the band Radiohead is one of the worst bands to come out of the 1990's. I've also expressed a similar lack of care for The Mars Volta, At The Drive In, Phish, John Lennon's solo work, and several others.

Let's see. The holidays in general (Christmas specifically), my own birthday, the rap music industry and most of the mainstream material thereof, Half-Life (I think it's a bit over-hyped, and that's me being delicate), basketball, baseball, MMA, and a host of other things, I'm sure.

I've found its often more common these days to be chastised for not liking something that's popular and/or mainstream these days than to be chastised for enjoying something on the fringe. Maybe its because "mainstream" has become much broader and inclusive as of late, or perhaps it's my imagination.

All the time. Even because I love pet rats and believe their better then hamsters because they rarely ever bite (unless something is wrong) and can be trained.

In the city I live, I am somewhat known for disliking people with a muslim background. *dodges brick* I am not by any means racist and it doesn't even have anything to do with muslims to begin with: everybody that shouts at the top of his lungs, only talks about drugs and whores and constantly seems to think that causing life threatening situations (pushing 70 kilos of military student down a crowded stairs) is a dickhole that can piss right out of my country. skin color does not matter.

But apparently the average dutch townsperson (Donald Dipshit) can't think for himself and starts accusing me of racism and calling me a nazi (the fuck?). that is insulting to me :(
Although people dont notice, I actually avoid men who are foreign. Sadly this was due to one incident on my first ever work shift one night at my local Subway store. Without going into details, I was alone with a foreign young man on a Saturday night, and he decided he liked the look of the 16yr old girl that in his charge for the night.... He went away to work on a ship not long after and I never spoke of that incident again but its left me scared of being near foreign men, although I cant say I like being left alone with strange "white" men either.

I've been insulted for NOT liking football (American) and wanting to actually do something worthwhile.

Not liking sports, mostly. And hating metalcore.
In both cases being told that I have no taste. And the LoZ games. Not that I hate the Zelda games, I just never got into them that much. Still, I guess anything less than total adoration is cause for scorn in peoples' books.

Spend a few minutes on the internet with personal opinions and you'll get there.

I didn't like E.T.

Calumon: I don't like scary stuff. : (

I dislike using Steam, what do you think?
I dislike its interface, but not the service itself. So my opinion of you goes unchanged. ;)

I've been personally insulted for - get this - NOT thinking Inception is the best film of the year. I didn't even say it was bad, yet I was called "unintelligent" and "contrarian" for opining that it's only quite good.

I got told I shouldn't watch movies because I don't have any taste in them, when I told someone I didn't like Napoleon Dynamite.

I laughed at that.

Knowing that smashing a wooden pencil into something metal at high velocity will break it.

FUCK! I would call you a right **** if your avatar wasn't so god damn cool. Well played old bean.

OT: I won't say I've been outright insulted for not liking something, but a dick from school said I don't know shit about music because I said that the Eurovision is a joke and that all the contestants have no musical talent whatsoever and wouldn't know music if it killed their dog.

I've been insulted for not wanting anything to do with current 3D technology (as in Tvs and paying £2 more for a cinema ticket) I grew up with Red + Blue 3D was around in the 90s and I got tired of that too. His point to me was that it makes the films more immersive, that it looks better with great potential. To me all it does is make backgrounds look blurry whilst using glasses that stop you seeing true colour.

It's a craze that I think too many people are hyping up.

TO THE POINT OF THE FORUM!
I've been insulted for liking some Tesco Value food over Tesco finest food, where I'm pretty damn sure that 60% of people under a blind tasting couldn't tell the difference anyway. Consumers are easily fooled by pretty lables and package art aren't they?

I was just chewed out by many a 12 year old in the Pixar thread for saying that I thought Up was boring.
