It was not for hating or disliking something but when everybody started talking about DJ Hero and more specifically Daft Punk I asked what is Daft Punk and a LOT of people started calling me a Retard, and the weirdest thing is it turns out my brother is always listening to they're music and I had not even heard they're name before, and before you ask I do live under a rock.

A lot of people can easily claim to be insulted because they like a certain thing, but have you ever been horribly insulted by people because you DON'T like something?

I have, and it's a common one: football. Particularly the World Cup. I don't see the point of it really. The World Cup is just an excuse for countries to slag each other off and be free from racism accusations. I fail to see how 11 particular people from your country being better than 11 people from someone else's country is a cause for country-wide celebration. Call me crazy, but I just don't get it in the slightest.

And football fans are eager to 'correct me' when they hear I don't like football. Mostly their correction methods consist of shouting insults, but maybe they genuinely believe they're helping me to join in on the pathetic sports culture we've created for ourselves.
I would say that this sounds exactly like my own life and perspective on sports, except I'm from America where nobody cares about soccer (football), so I never catch any flack for being completely oblivious to the World Cup, as the general American position on that event can be encapsulated by the following phrase: Huh?

But otherwise I'd say we're in agreement on the inherently inconsequential and ultimately meaningless nature of sporting events - I don't expect complete strangers to care about the outcome of my family boardgames, so why the hell should I, or anyone else, be expected to care about the outcomes of games that complete strangers are playing?

I often got insulted for saying to the bullies and idiotic chavs at secondary school that I hated them. Well it's their own fault for being such dicks and having such mockable faces.

Ugh Daft Punk, they did the new torn soundtrack amazingly but, like a lot of that style of music, they are just so repeditive and boring.

Lessee now; Halo, blondes, football (the one played with the foot), rugby, drinking heavily/frequently, chavery and not having a kid at 19.

I've been insulted for not liking all of these things.

I was ridicule for not liking punk and rock by my ex friends from high school (this was back when Slipknot, The Stroke, White Stripe etc were born). I was more into dance (House) music back then but my friend give me no peace just because I like it. I even started to like one of two punk songs they always try to convert me to their music.

There will always be someone that can't understand why someone else doesn't like things they like. I can't recall any examples so meh.

But I've insulted someone for not liking someone but only because they were ignorant, not presenting any good reasons as to why they don't like it. Keeping an open-mind is all I ask =P

I got told I shouldn't watch movies because I don't have any taste in them, when I told someone I didn't like Napoleon Dynamite.

I laughed at that.
That movie makes me feel terrible just watching it!

Y'know it's not your fault for not knowing the greatest house artist alive! Daft Punk. Sure they're popular but not that mainstream. Hell it's rare for me to see them on T.V. and when I do I explode with joy! That's the beauty of finding new artists and bands, you feel good when you find a new one!

I always get ridiculed by my Korean friends for not knowing shit about Korea >_>, even worse is that I probably shouldn't say I don't like K-Pop that much...

A lot of people apparently take issue with my disdain for Toy Story 3 and Up.
You must have a heart of stone. May I study you for science?

OT: I got called a few choice names when I turned off Prodigy on New Years Eve at a friends. I was sick of listening to Firestarter, but apparently they weren't. Sheesh.

I've been called gay for not liking football (proper football not the American Version),
My responce was thus:

"I don't like a sport where 22 slim young men run around in short trousers for 90 minutes and then traditionally jump in a hot soapy bath together, that makes me gay??"

The reaction to this was explosive

and my spelling sucks

All a matter of personal taste, I suppose, but here's a tip: Human After All is the low point of their career, and the other albums at least have the decency to have songs that have multiple parts, layers, whatever you want to call them. But if you still don't like them, that's fine, everyone's different and I won't hold it against you.

OT: I've been derided on occasion for not leaping onto the CoD bandwagon, <passive-aggession> instead preferring games that bring new ideas and innovation forth and will be worth remembering a few years on </passive-aggession>.

I dislike using Steam, what do you think?
I didn't like the idea of it either until I was forced to use it to buy a game I wanted. Now I don't mind so much...but that's my opinion.

OT: I had a friend who didn't talk to me for over week because I called Giants: Citizen Kabuto a piece of shit and refused to play it with him. This wasn't the first time we'd had this conversation either.
