I would say Hawaii. Think about it.
Haha. That's genius! Hawaii has the majority of the navy as well doesn't it? I'm not American so don't kill me.
Hawaii is pretty healthy in the military area. Also they are isolated, and will probably have the other islands backing them up. Think about Japan in WWII, they were horriying. I think the Hawaiians could recreate that. Now that I say that, I think Florida would do pretty damn well too, since they have all the survivalists, as well as swamps and wildlife that a Yankee would probably have trouble with. Also California would be good since San Diego is a huge producer of ships and such.

Alaska, because by the time they get there the rest of the states will have killed eachother off, so by default they win. Also no one would have gone up there because then they'd have to cross Canada or go into the icy water and that's just unfun war.

Texas. There's a saying by Texans, "They may come take our legal firearms, but we'll still win with our weapons." Basically, Texans have a metric shiton of firearms. They have many registered legally, but there's also a portion of the population that hide some in the walls of their house so that they can have the means of revolt if it comes to it.

The question is in the title.

I say North Dakota.

I mean think about it. Does anyone know what REALLY goes up in there?

I say they are working with Canada to nuke the rest of the USA.

lol jk

but what do you think?

Technically the only one with a standing armed force is the one which contains the Whitehouse, which by proxy controls all military bases, equipment and personnel in the US.

In light of this Im guna have to go with Washington DC

Everyone's going to say Texas. It's got huge borders to defend...against a handful of sates with no huge military presence, that are just as spread out as Texas and with just as much (none) defensible terrain. I say it comes down to whether Texas can tank rush, but the real winner will be...

Colorado. It's like Switzerland (or Afghanistan), they can always just retreat to their mountain strongholds. Plus they have lots of Air Force bases, and lets not forget...NORAD. Yeah, Colorado has a pretty good shot at controlling the nuclear arsenal, and if not that, definitely America's satellite network. Hmmm, satellite surveillance plus air power...I think it would be a short war.

I'm from Pennsylvania, and while I think we could do allright, we're between New York and DC. Amish country would look like the Somme, circa WW1.

Kansas is a possibility. I mean think about it: Every state above and including Oklahoma is a Farm Belt state. That means we grow your food, bitches. If the five farm belt states band together and mount a successful defense, we could hole up and starve the rest of the US into submission.

It's brilliant, I tell you. We just need to get over that first hurdle that is the initial invasion.

Caps added, because that's the problem right there-huge area of land to defend, not enough people. Why do you think agricultural areas get swept in weeks, like Russia?

Well, I can't answer Texas, which is the correct answer, so I guess I have to go with California. They have a higher population than Texas, and a lot of military resources, just not as much as Texas. Still, they could definitely dominate the entire west coast.

Yeah, you'll notice I kind of emphasized that myself. Initial hurdle usually suggests that there is, in fact, a problem to be solved.

Moving on, to counteract that glaring problem, suppose we use the scorched earth policy as we retreat? Fall back to a smaller area, easier to defend, with burnt crops all around us. That way they WILL be starved by the time they hit us.

Southpark taught me that the power of getting up early is all old people need to win wars. Beware states that have Country Kitchen Buffets, because you know those are literally supply depots for the soldiers. So that means Florida and its retired population has my vote.

Besides, Dexter lives in Florida.
