Uncharted: Drake's Fortune: The gameplay is good, the story is good until chapter 17, but the game is not funny.
Oblivion: almost everything is optional, boring story, and the point is to make your character invincible but the monsters level up when you do so what's the point. (I did like the Dark Brotherhood quests but that's the only thing)
MMORPG: The only point with these games is to spend incredibly much time to become a god that kills the noobs and then be cocky about it, but I don't think it's says too much when you're better at a game because you have spend more time with it (basically the same reason why I hate achievements on xbox)
none splitscreen co-op FPS games: FPS games are only fun to play with a friend.
Star Wars KotoR 2 Sith Lords: Well that's just because it stopped working on my computer.

considering the lack of innovation from the series... i think the overrated monikor is spot on. that doesn't mean the games are bad though.

Psychonauts; It really wasn't that great of a game, get over yourselves. To those of you that picked up fervor for the game after the Zero Punctuation review: Yahtzee may make some good points in his reviews, but that doesn't mean everything his says is gold.

So, what games do you dislike that many people idolize?

Well speaking of the devil, Yahtzee. That's pretty much the exact reason why I can't stand him, the braying of the sheep that follow drives me insane.

The Xbox360 - It's the second worst console on the market - this thing is shit, everything about it, even it's controller, and it's selling like hotcakes because it's got some good exclusives.

The Wii - WE'RE IN A SHORTAGE OF THIS FUCKING THING?! A SHORTAGE? Man, we really are running out of thing to entertain ourselves. Thank God it's fun with friends though - otherwise I'd feel like I've wasted the tons of money of stocking up on 60 dollar remotes.

*waits for someone by the name of "captain obvious" to pop up and say "Well, that's just your opinion! hurr hurr" because they were offended by the fact that I don't like their platform of choice.*

Half life. All of them. I don't know what it is I cant find anything Wrong I just don't seem to e having fun whenever i play one of them.

Same 'ere. Mindnumbingly boring. People seem to get immersed in the world, but I simply can't do that when I'm not having a good time.

Also, Halo. At least, on the PC. I nearly fell asleep whilst playing. Uninstalled after that. Multiplayer isn't worth it either, since it's lagging as hell everywhere.

UT2K4: Oh, sure, it was fun for a while. But simply because it was so fast-paced (and my fav game for quite a while), the community just blew it. Nowadays it's either that shitty instagib (which basically means dodge+double jump the whole time all around the map, keeping your fire button down), or rocket launcher/flak cannon spamfests in small corridors.

yeah that too, as long as it's cheap and keeps you entertained for a few hours or longer, then it will sell, hence why we are in a shortage of the Wii.

Certainly Halo, completed all 3 of them but really considered them just good FPS games, certainly not the God-like games they were apparently meant to be and the amount of morons on Halo 3 online...let's just say I'm glad I no longer own an Xbox.

World of Warcraft. Never really seen the big deal. Haven't played the game myself but I think the people that do play it, some of them really do take it to extremes.

Grand Theft Auto. Never wanted to buy number 4 but eventually brought myself to do it out of boredom, an excess of money and no other new releases to buy. Thought it was fairly good to be honest and I can appreciate the effort gone into its creation but got so bored of it's really not as good as everyone hyped it up to be. It's more constrictive than San Andreas so it's more of a downgrade really.

Assassin's Creed. Bought the game a week after release and initially thought it was amazing. A few weeks later and I realised it was so boring and repetitive that I just couldn't be bothered with it. I can understand why some people like it but I really couldn't see it through to the end. I work in a game shop and this game is seriously the most traded in Xbox 360 game so maybe quite a few people agree with me.

I'm a big Final Fantasy and MGS fan but yeah I can see why people in here dislike them, they're not for everyone though and I guess that's kind of the bigger point here: everyone to their own. So long as people have their own opinions on things then it's okay I can deal with that. It's only really annoying when you have some idiot claiming GTA4 is the best game ever because IGN said so, even though the idiot in question has only played 10 minutes of the game at a friend's house. Sheeps I guess you would say, who just follow the mainstream view because they think it makes them cool especially when they bash other people for even daring to say that Halo 3 really isn't that great.

Hmmm...Final Fantasy after VI. After that narcissist took over character design, I can't stand to look at the games anymore.
World of Warcraft (and most other MMORPGs). I can't see myself committing that much effort into games like that, especially at a cost. Maybe EVE Online, if only because there's somewhat of a real war going on there anyway (and not because of Empyrean Age).
The Sims. But that's stating the obvious, now, innit?
Anything by DiCE (BF) and Crytek. To sacrifice gameplay for realism, be it graphically (it's not that shiny, dammit) or physically (I have to use a joystick to fly the planes? Who buys that shit anymore?), is an insult to my intelligence.

Vampire Weekend. Fuck them. They're literally indie's Jimmy Buffett (...and Paul Simon, if only cos the lead singer sounds dead-on like him).

I hole heartedly admit that i HATED the halo series, i jstu didnt see much to them, how ever i did like bioshock portal and hitman, now why do you ask becuase i just enjpoyed them.

Now lastly i jsut got one thign to say I liked psyconaughts becuse Yahtzeee reviewed it, why beacuse it haad a good story line. Infact i woudl have actully have preferd it as a book (if its possible with out fucking it up).

I'm glad to see, reading this thread, that I'm not the only one who didn't like Half-Life... All I seem to hear from my friends is how awesome it is (but then, these are the same friends who have repeatedly told me that Skies of Arcadia is among their favourite games; don't get me wrong, I like JRPGs, but that thing was tedious beyond compare.... maybe I just need better friends).

Other than that... well, as a JRPG fan, there are a lot more games I like that 'everyone' else hates than vice versa. I'm on the verge of being pushed into trying Mass Effect, but coming to it from FF10 I think I'm going to be disappointed (that is, unless Mass Effect also lets you get powerful enough to destroy planets pretty early on, which from what I've seen I doubt...)

I never understood why people liked Jedi Outcast. I thought it was a sub-par shooter filled with bad design choices, such as it being too dark to see anything everywhere you go, and having absolutely no idea on how to progress on several spots.

Although I did play it on the Gamecube, which may something to do with it (what with lousy ports and all.)

The Final Fantasy series - If they weren't lessons in tedium I don't know what is.

The Metal Gear series with the exception of .... MGS4. They seem to have trimmed some of the fat off this bloated, self-important series and injected some new life into it with the latest installment. I'm actually, to my surprise, quite enjoying this one.

Tekken series - Still is and always has been a poor man's Virtua Fighter. Seems to have that mass appeal though.

Smash Bros Brawl and Melee.

Just can't stand them. The original, however, is quite entertaining. The fewer characters created more differences between them. The somewhat slower gameplay and far superior levels made it way easier to keep track of what was happening.

Pretty much everything exclusive to Xbow 360 except Gears of War.

The controller is to bulky for me even with my long fingers (just used to the Playstation ones I guess).

Gears is the only one I've played that I've gotten that much into it to forget about that.

Halo. The whole series. I utterly HATE Halo. I would rather play an FPS made back when they were GOOD and NOT trying to imitate Halo. Duke Nukem 3D >>> Halo. Goldeneye >>>>> Halo. Perfect Dark >>>>>>> Halo.

And Animal Crossing. I don't hate it like I do Halo, but I find it dull, uninteresting, and pointless...and am very curious as to exactly where its popularity comes from.

That's interesting. I've found the PS1/2/3 controller too small for my ham-like hands so the bulkier Xbox ones suit me perfectly.
