Everything you experienced in your entire life was a lie.

I'm not sure. I mean, I'd be upset, alot. I love my dog, my cat, and my family. But, my whole life doesn't add up to anything but a dog, a cat, and my family (parents, brother.) If my whole life was really a lie, all I can say is that maybe I'd try to do things right. But then again, I'm 26, I could do that now...but I'm too lazy.

I'd probably think "Thank fucking christ for that".

After that I'd have figure out who I am exactly. From there I have no idea what I will do.

And then it would all go away and I'd be back to my real life, yep, just like that.

i would scold myself for how blandly depressing my subconsious is....but after coming to terms with it: with new knowledge of my perversely light masochism, i would spend the rest of my days replicating the feeling of my dream world by pinching myself every 5 minutes, making a minor annoyance, done consistently enough, absolutely maddening. then when im finally REALLY insane, maybe my mind can come up with more interesting dreams...

incidentally, i had a dream like that once; where i lived a good portion of a life, then woke up. definitely better than reality, though as the above paragraph shows, i was far too apathetic to be disappointed....

i apologize in advance for the massive amount of time you will spend browsing that site

It's impossible, I simply don't have enough cognative power to invent some of them things I know. You're implying I managed to invent within my mind several languages, numerous numerical systems, ancient history spanning thousands of years (admittedly, obviously I don't know all of it, but the point remains), the laws and operation of science within our universe from theoretical physics to evolution, and more inbetween. If this scenario ocurred, I would likely either resume insanity due to the overwhelming nature of reality, since it would conflict with how I percieved fundamental truths for years, or I'd... see if what I invented makes sense in context of this world I'm "reborn" into, and then spread what my apparantly incredible mind managed to concoct from nothing.

If I turned out to be considered an invalid and what I understood was less than that of the average child of the race I was a part of, then I'd be sad.

Probably resume insanity though, I've made so many friends, done so many things, and worked towards so much, if this was an hallucination, dream or "lie", I don't think leaving would leave me useful. It's optimistic to imagine maybe that I'd wake up to a much more elaborate and awe inspiring world, but dayum would it be at the very least interesting.

If I awoke in Middle-Earth after being released from magical imprisonsment within my own mind, I might be pleased :p

how would I know that what I'm experiencing now is not insanity and what I experienced before was true?

I believe that's only if he helps you eliminate Dr. Zimmer.

OT: I don't see how it makes any difference. The experiences you had in the matrix are the only history you can draw on to live the rest of your life. You certainly have to reconcile your fictional experience and self-concept with the actual world but it isn't as if you'll suddenly have a new un-tainted origin story to work from. It would be like moving to a new country where you don't know the culture or customs and nobody knows you but they still speak English.

I'd make all the movies that apparently never existed and get rich.

I'd try and find out what the fuck happened. If what I know about history, literature, and my life is a lie, then what is the "real" world's version? What happened in the world? Did Columbus find America? Is Macbeth a literary masterpiece? I would want to know everything!

I would be Like Hurray!! something new and different from my current life!
Then I would become an author and write about this alternate history that I know.
