I'm going to nominate Gongora from Lost Odyssey. Some of the stuff he pulled was just plain sick.

Oh yes, almost forgot. The Azure Nightmare from Soul Calibur.

While Sephy is my favorite villain, for evilest I'd have to go with Alma from F.E.A.R. I'm not entirely sure what her motivation is, but she certainly scared the crap out of me...

id say your charactier (if he was evil) off fable because you can go around killing every one tourtring them in that town where you have no weps (they get taken off you) and being more evil than jack of blades and also getting a 100,000,000 bill for the crimes you did

King Ashniard from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. He killed his entire family, nearly brought the entire contenent to war, and enslaved entire nations because he felt like it. Stotic, yes, but if it weren't, then he wouldn't be evil.

Apologies to anyone who thinks Sephiroth is better; Not because he is, but because I pity your disillusion.

P.S. My spell check is busted, so I can apologize for that. Score one for Ron!

Whats the bloody deal with choosing Kefka as being the most evil...he's not evil..(just misunderstood) XD,lol but seriously, all he does is laugh fiendishly and insults, then hightails it at the first sign of defeat. He was evil in the 1980s...probably >.<

As for me - Sephiroth, cuz hes a badarse manipulator and carries a really long sword <.<
Then he destroys the world as it is known. Then, he randomly destroys towns just for fun and leaves the entire population living in constant fear. Yeah, Kefka's not evil.
Tel me one decent villain who doesn't do this <.<
From shinra in final fantasy to any would-be follower of Kain in command and counqer, over all 9 current races in Warhammer Dawn of War to just about any villain in your average action cartoon... nah people just say Kefka's the most evil cause he laughs so much ,lol

Kefka. He murdered an entire village of people by poisoning their drinking supply. Why? Because he COULD.
On that note - the prince Luca Blight from Suikoden 2 is evilier ^^; He slaughtered everyone in every village he got into, burned the village to the ground and while he was killing he made every one plea for their life on their knees while he laughed to their face.

Prince:"You'l do anything? Then act like a pig!"

Villager:"..wha?"

Luca:"I said act like a pig!"

Villager:"okay..oink oink.."

Luca:"hahahaha this is great!"

Villager:"then you'l..?"

Luca:"Yes...DIE PIG!!"

now ladies and gentlemen,THAT is EVIL!

Jon Irenicus from BG2.

Not sure if he is the most evil 'EVAR' but he deserves an honorable mention for shouting "You shall suffer, you shall all suffer!" as he tears apart an army of Cowled Magi.

Oh, and for draining your immortal soul, using it to make himself a god.

I think Mal'Ganis, the dreadlord who corrupted arthas in the end of the warcraft 3 human campaign was just pure evil.

For real evil, you gotta go with someone totally unrepentant and amoral, someone who doesn't waste time trying to explain their problems away with cheesy justifications.

I got five favorites.

Kefka - Not only was he cartoonishly evil, but he got results when he actually took out most of the world.

Lavos - I contend that Lavos might be the most creative concept for a villain ever. Billion year old space locust/starship that you can only fight with time travel and the collected weapons of at least three different civilizations.

Sargeras - Lots of villains start good and turn to evil. But it's a rare thing where that villain doesn't waste time trying to justify that slide, even if its only internally. If you have principles, but abandon those principles for pure nihilism, did you ever have any principles to begin with?

GLADoS - Jigsaw's got NOTHING on this maniac's traps. The lying, deceptiveness, and dishonesty never stops. The apologies for the deceptions are the only things that sound like obvious lies, which is the ultimate rebuke. Is the whole thing a massive training course/indoctrination session? And is there a person behind that curtain pulling the strings, cleaning the traps, baking the cakes?

Silent Hill - Normally Evil comes from a being, even if it is a mythical and invisible being. But its a rare work that makes a piece of geography so evil that it actually tears away from the rest of the world.

Anyone who didn't respond SHODAN obviously haven't played System Shock or they'd vote for her too. I honestly can't think of any other villain that got under my skin so much, it wasn't just a matter of "Oh, she's evil!" It's that she hates you, she really, really hates you for no real reason and she's perfectly happy to say so as often as she can.

Honestly, if you want to know why she's so memorable here's an excellent article written by Kieron Gillen about SHODAN: http://gillen.cream.org/wordpress_html/?page_id=1103

Good stuff!

Other than SHODAN? I always thought Sarevok was pretty damn evil. Creating an economic crysis in the sword coast region and laying blame on several factions in order to create a war between the nations. His ultimate goal? To soak the world with so much blood that he may take advance of his devine heritage as the new god of Murder as the prophecies fortold. Dramatic stuff there.

And here's one I'd be surprised if anyone agreed with; Myrkul from NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer. A dead god clinging to the last threads of sentience because of the havok his long ago creations make. He's like a leech, an evil parasite that's only clinging to exsistance because of the pure cruelty of his actions while he'd still been alive and the way people cringe when they hear his name. He's got no power left now and by all rights he's dead, and yet still he causes just enough terror and fear to cling to that last shred of power he's got left.

Hitler. FYI Hitler was in the beginning scenes of CnC: Red Alert, so he counts as being in a video game. I think. Sorta. Maybe.

Luca Blight, from Suikoden 2, gets my vote. He's unabashadly evil on a far more personal and realistic level than any Final Fantasy Villain. He doesn't try to destroy the world, but he massacres entire villages for no reason, murders several of your friends and takes 3 Parties and several dozen poisoned arrows to weaken him enough for you to actually kill him.
