Tomato sauce or "ketchup" if youre american (though I don't know for sure its the same thing)

take any perfectly good food and completly ruin it by adding tomator sauce...I'm actually grossed out just be being next to somone eating that shit...blegh!
In America...no. However, whenever I visit family in Asia, "tomato sauce" is a unique blend of spices with a tomato paste as the base. Ketchup is just sugary tomato paste in comparison. Seriously, go to your local Asian or Mexican grocery store, and buy tomato SAUCE...it'll blow your perceptions...I never eat ketchup by choice anymore.

As for the food I cannot stand...chitlins (or tripe), though most people who realize it's intestines would agree with me.

It's sort of the same reason why I am so selective about hotdogs. I enjoy the flavor, but "processed meat product" has always made me sick (renders half the Taco Bell menu inedible without a healthy swig of Pepto).

Also, Velveeta. I love the taste...but it always makes me hurl, no matter how much stomach relief I ingest...I am also pretty sure I am allergic to cayenne pepper and blue cheese, but that last one is just bacteria...

These things. Honestly, its not even *what* they are, I have stomached foodstuffs with more horrifying origins than this, but its basically extremely rich organ meat that has been deep fried. With, as you might expect, a very flesh-y texture.

Oh also, these:

They smell and taste like ammonia, with the texture of gelatinous animal fat.

There are three things I consider most vile.
1) Celery. Just tastes terrible to me. If it's in something other than soup, it's all I can taste.
2) Asparagus. Also terrible and makes your urine smell.
3) Brussel sprouts. They always taste dirty regardless of how they're cooked.

Mushrooms I guess. The flavour, the texture - nothing about them is good. I can tolerate them on pizza if there are about a dozen other toppings but that's it.

Oh, and brussels sprouts. I'll never understand the appeal.

I was once considered the kind of guy who would eat anything, now? I am one fussy ************!

For a kick off, mayo! Firstly, nothing on earth has the same consistence as mayo, it wobbles more than jelly (jello to you yanks) but is more liquid-y. When I eat it, it's like a big mouthful of goop. Problem is, every pre-packaged sandwhich in supermarkets has this crap lashed on all over it ... like slimer (from ghost busters) sneezed on it.

Next mushrooms, like edible rubber ... plus, it's a fungus for fucks sake! Like licking athletes foot!

Anything that once swam, it's the smell! I know they say that if fish smells like fish then don't use it but fish always smells of fish! It is why they call it a fishy smell!

Tomato sauce or as I like to call it, the flavor neutralizer! People slop it on anything and it reduces everything to this super sweet tangy crap. I am kind of against all sauces to be honest, I like things to taste how they taste and not have something with it ... I do love to coat my chips thoroughly with white pepper!

when i was young i disliked near all veg apart from potatoes and i really hated onions and tomatoes , that sucked , like most of them now though.

and once at some family function when i was young i pigged out on pate and smiths square crisps. spent the next two weeks with food poisoning , man i was explosively ejecting out of both ends continuously. to this day just the smell of either makes me dry heave. its odd how the mind works because i loved the taste of them when i was eating them but now they are totally repellent to me.

I admit to actually being pretty open minded in regards to what I'll eat. I'll try pretty much anything as long as I'm not opposed for personal reasons or because the concept alone sounds incredibly nasty(Rocky mountain oysters anyone? EUGH). That being said...

Coconut. Namely the flakes. The taste of coconut is generally fine, though I don't like it when it's strong or by itself. But the flakes just... UGH. I hate the way they feel between my teeth and once some gets in I just can't seem to get the feeling to go away. I refuse to consume anything with coconut flakes on or in it. I don't understand how some people will sprinkle it on stuff.

Looking at the pic, I just want to dump a bit of Patron in it, along with some salt and pepper and maybe a squeeze of lime, and go to town with some chips.

Crap served up at McDonalds, including their fries, is about the only thing I can't touch that many seem to have no problem with. Odd...
Yep, that guac looks pretty good.

Also agree with the super shitty fast food. TV dinners too, those things are horrid, worse than airplane food (which has gotten better over the years).

Though if anyone's really interested in finding out all these strange corner culture foods around the world: Tasted - Why Would You Eat That? [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoQjqpg_6bCOItkKvTdGsK6xYQw1IwAKE] is a youtube series devoted to those foods. Yes, they have done surströmming.

I really hate fast food, especially from KFC, MacDonalds and Burger King. Unfortunately, every Thursday the people at my work do a MacDonalds run so I can't really avoid watching people eat it, not that I would complain because they enjoy it and they are not harming me, but I just find it tasteless and greasy and sometimes my chest hurts just by looking at it. Even though I must admit I think I am a bit of a food snob. I also seem to be in the minority that considers mushrooms as one of my favourite foods. I freaking love mushrooms, and as a vegetarian they are a brilliant source of protein for me.

Fermented soybeans. Sticky, smelly and strong tasting. And for some reason, a lot of Japanese people love it.

I hate Pumpkin. Roast pumpkin, pumpkin soup, pumpkin scones, it doesn't matter, if it has pumpkin in it I'm not eating it.
Even pumpkin pie? How on god's green earth can you not like pumpkin pie?

The one pick of the mashed potatoes is making my mouth water, but the scrambled eggs makes me want to upchuck.

As for my response to the thread. Eggs. My aversion is so strong just seeing or smelling them makes me start to almost dry heave. I can handle them in say a cake or baked goods but that is it.

oh and add me to the "no thank you" group for mayonnaise. but I do use miracle whip on a sandwich every now and then, though about a few years back I started putting ranch dressing on my sandwiches

Mushrooms are fucking vile. The flavour is fine, but the texture is something like slugs, or death. I can't eat octopi or squid at all because if I start thinking about them I feel ill. Seriously, who looks at an octopus and thinks 'Mmmm... dinner'. They're fucking aliens and no one believes me.
Some calamari sounds real good right now!

I can and have eat almost anything, but tomatoes gets me. I want to like them, and I even understand why other people find them edible, but I just can't get past my gag reflex every time I try one myself.

I'll have to hop on that ketchup and mushroom bandwagon as well fellow Escapists. That crap is just unsettling to look at.

But the one that makes me gag the hardest: Beans.
I have the unfortunate hatred of beans, in a goddamn hispanic family that praises the sh*t. Why? BECAUSE IT LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE SH*t, EXACT TEXTURE AND ALL. Not to mention whenever I visit my mom's house it's common so I have to sit there and hold back my gag reflex when I.... eat it.... A lot of water died trying to vanquish such an atrocious taste.

*Shudders* Just... just why? Why would you ruin such an amazing food like that?! D:
I love scrambled eggs... why would anyone want to ruin that by adding ketchup?!
That's what I want to know as well! I mean, I can understand if the syrup from your pancakes ends up mixing with your egss since they're on the same plate [for some "strange" reason], but purposefully putting ketchup on eggs?! Madness, I tell you! MADNESS!!

OT: Other than pictured above I loathe tomato soup. I don't like tomatos or ketchup, but I can eat them. But tomato soup just makes me wretch.
First off, that pic "disturbs" me...

Second, I can barely tolerate soup in general... Tomato soups is not helping to change my mind on a more positive note...
