Hes an ex-soldier, are you surprised he's violent?!
Well... thats not a very good generalization to make.... i know plenty of active and former military folks and most of them are good people. My dad is one and he'd never hurt anyone unless he was defending my family. Just cus they are trained to preserve their own well being through violence, doesn't make them violent. Just prepared for the enviroment they may be sent to.

OT: There really is no excuse for this, i hope this guy goes away for a long time. Some people just cant handle simple things, i guess his mother should have read the ESRB rating before buying him the game... lol

Chris Benoit anyone? I'm sure it wasn't GTA behind that though...

See for something like this, he probably just beat them for no reason since he's a pissed off tool, and blamed it on video games so the media would get a stiffy and he could claim shellshock.
I think Chris Benoit had more to do with heavily abusing steroids than anything else. Steroids don't just make you strong, in some cases, they can make you crazy.
Steroids do upset the chemical balance in your body thanks to the huge amounts of bullshark testosterone being fed into your veins, along with his Syndrome X and the other meds he was on, poor bastard was a ticking time bomb, and sadly, his life and the life of his wife and son Daniel, who had the same Syndrome X, were ended.

Yessir, they can make you crazy, but they don't turn a normal man crazy, only make you crazier(we can see evidence of this with the WWE and MLB, since 99% of people in those corporations have at one point or another used some from of steroids).

Chris Benoit's son had fragile X but I don't think he had it. Fragile X results in a number of physical features including poor muscle tone. Does that sound like Benoit?

Heh let's hope somebody comes out and points out it might be his former career as a soldier there has created the violence and not a fucking game.
blaming any external stimulus is a bad idea. true, military service can mess with people. but it only tuns people into psychotic killers if their brains were wired to accept it in the first place. the military instills values of discipline and personal accountability, so saying that he snapped on a kid because he's an ex-soldier is far beyond inaccurate. he snapped on the kid because he's disturbed and should be locked away for the rest of his life

This sort of thing occurs often, but when a video game just happens to be involved, that's when things get really controversial.

But yes, because of this, it will most likely be all over the place.

Oh, wow. I'm less bothered by the GTA mention thrown in for some extra attention and the atrocity of the crimes committed than I am by the fact that after finding out what had happened to her child, the mother tried to cover it up.

The mother tried to cover it up.

She didn't punch that psycho in the face, she didn't want to press charges, she didn't even break up with him. She basically forgave him and wanted to pass off her son's injuries like nothing happened. Something like that is just beyond words. Any sane person would be horrified at anybody inflicting harm on their child. The pathetic ***** deserves a jail sentence that's just as long as her beloved partner does. I hope to God that kid's getting a foster family.
Unfortunately, that sort of reaction isn't really that unusual. There are quite a few people who'll stick their head in the sand and cry "he's a nice guy, really" despite all the evidence.
It's insane. I don't know how anyone could defend their boyfriend over something so sick as this. If you hadn't noticed in a post earlier, she made a freakin' website

Well...stands to reason, doesn't it? If you have people fucked up enough to do it, then you'd have people fucked up enough to defend it...not surprisingly if the latter are the sort to be friends with the former.

Hypocrisy thy name is Gamer... Boy, it's so easy to place blame isn't it?

I love how people are so quick to place the blame of this horrid action on his "ex-soldier" status to cover the ass of his "gamer" status, but when anybody does the same to video games, "OH HOW DARE THEY!!! LET'S AMAZON BOMB THEM!!!!!!".

Will not disagree with you on the fact that the guy is very disturbed.. What i wrote was a mixture of joke and hope, that for once, some of the so called experts might look at other sinners than video games for the reason for this crime..

But wil still say that the military is only trying to get discipline and personal accountability into their soldiers..
Just look at the Iraq war.. I really have no account on how many documenteries, videos, articles etc. there has come out the last couple of years, with soldiers that has killed, tortured, humiliated innocent capitives (and a couple of gulity).. I would say that a military as it works now, has not shown much proof that it is able to determine who is right in the head and who isn't

Only a coma? clearly he exersized restraint... Pretty sure any other slightly-unhinged ex-soldier would have just snapped the kids neck.

Nothing to see here people.
