Wait what? Final Fantasy XV and Overwatch are on both Xbone and PS4. What's the argument here?
As for Bayonetta 2...That game would never have even happened if Nintendo hadn't paid to have the game made. That's why it was exclusive to the Wii U. Because either game was to be Wii U exclusive, or not exist at all.
Also you are completely wrong about game exclusives being good for hardware folks. Exclusives are better for game developers. Because they no longer have to try and get their game code to work on different opperating systems with different levels of power. It allows for a much smoother product, because development isn't split between different versions. Which is why you tend to see games that are exclusive will tend to be fair less buggy, and have better overall performance on their chosen machine.
For example Final Fantasy XV, ran much smoother on Xbone than it did on PS4. Smoother and steadier frame rate, faster loading times, generally better performance. However Bloodborne, a PS4 exclusive, runs damn near flawlessly on PS4. Why? Because From Software was able to pour all their development time into a single version of the product. Which yields a better product overall. Because looking back at Final Fantasy XV, while is does run better on Xbone, it doesn't run great on that either. Multiple versions of the game cause sacrifices in development. Now a PS4Pro patch has made Final Fantasy XV run better on PRO consoles than Xbone's original release so there is that now too.
Look let's tied up this entire debate right now.
Exclusives are a good thing. Because they create competition in the market, and you need competition to have a successful market. Sony and Microsoft need to compete with each other, to try and 1-up each other in order to drive themselves to making the best possible products for us consumers. They create bigger and better consoles, with bigger and better exclusives to try and swing the consumer base on way or the other. The end result is that we, the people, get better games overall.
Third party games don't matter because they will release on everything. The true competition is in these Exclusives like Horizon, Gears of War, Halo, Uncharted, Last of Us, etc. Because it is these titles that usually stand out as the great pillars of console gaming.
However....Microsoft is completely fucking their shit up. I don't know what they were thinking when they decides to offer their exclusive Xbox games on PC, but they utterly destroyed any reason to ever have an Xbox One console. Considering that the PC ports of the games run better than they do on the console.
Sony at least has dedicated exclusives, and also has any third party console games you could want from either system. So PS4 is the clear winner this generation.
Nintendo also doesn't count, because they are doing completely different things. With the Wii U officially dead, and the Switch basically a mobile machine, they are in more competition with Android and Iphone than they are with Microsoft and Sony. So I wouldn't even count them in this discussion.
