Telnor looked down at his clothes. They were dirty and worn down from all the traveling. He lifted his shirt and gave it a sniff. It smelt like sweat. Telnor let go of the shirt and let it settle back in place on his stomach.


"That is not a bad idea Scarlett and Vergil. These clothes sure are not suitable for a party. Also when did the mission to get an army to fight the Middle become a party? Ah well. You know I think a three piece Bromley Frock suit. Maybe a Jarvis Frock suit. Or a Dexter Frock suit. All good ideas. I'll have to think on that. I should do that before sparring," Telnor talked aimlessly to himself.

When he heard Vergil talking about the news, he looked over the table at the paper.

"Damn. That is kind of pathetic. I thought Grim's guards were better than that. Last time I was wanted by guards they searched for almost a month before saying fuck it. Hell I went six months later and I was still chased. I mean I'm glad that aren't looking for us anymore but still. Lack of motivation much? Though I guess that squad, Mosaic? Monastery? Moma's? Might still be looking for us but I doubt it right now. You worry to much Scarlet."

After the massacre at the Nehelem estate security at the Dean of the North?s estate had tightened considerably, Tear had done some quick calculations, it would be suicide to attempt an attack on the night of the masquerade ball. Even if it was a perfect opportunity to strike. Tear smiled to herself and crossed her legs. It was a good job then she didn?t need to break in.

?Miss Elle?? The maid asked looking at the blonde woman sat waiting for her appointment. It was a nice shade, freshly dyed too.

?Yes.? Tear replied standing.

?Mr. Vaalender will see you now in his private quarters. Follow me.?

Tear nodded with a polite smile and followed the maid to the door. Entering she caught sight of Kalyn Alexander Vaalender sat a desk. He looked up and caught her eye.

?Miss Elle, sir.? The maid spoke before leaving and closing the door behind her.

Ah yes, the code name, so you must be Sera?s last apprentice Tear??

?You took your time arriving, did you not? Come, sit, we have much to discuss.?

"You have to considered Telnor, that with all the different rumours flying about who did it and why, the district guards must of had a hard time deciding over what was truth, and what were falsehoods. But still, I laugh at their ineptitude." Vergil remarked, snickering afterwards as he briefly returned to looking at the newspaper, before putting it down on the table.

"Anyway, we should get going."

"It was Mosione Squad." Vergil added seemingly out of nowhere.

"I am sure we can take some time to go visit this music shop, it must mean something precious to you. Besides, we pretty much have the whole day to explore." Vergil remarked, notifying the group about the time.

"Let me just pay for my breakfast, and grab my coat from our room Vessel, and I should be set. Speaking of which, was there anything you wanted to get from our room Vessel? Cause I can go get it if you want." He asked as Vergil got up from the table, and then headed to the counter.

After letting the Vessel finish her chat with the maid, it was his turn to speak.

"So how much was it for the breakfast?"
"Okay then let me see, there was, the custom omelet, pancakes, orange juice, and the large pot of tea. Also paying for your friend over there?" The maid said as she pointed her pencil at Telnor, his face filled to the brim with egg and sausage.
"Uh no, he can cover his own food." Vergil remarked.
"Very well then, the cost comes too... 65 Kiel." The maid mentioned out nowhere after tallying up the different prices.
"Hmm, very reasonable for a place like this. Tell me, how come my lady friend here's pancakes weren't included in that price list?" Vergil remarked in a little bit of confusion as he handed over the coins.
"Well sir, we pride ourselves on quality ingredients, so that every customers meal is enjoyable. As for your friend's breakfast, her's was pre-paid for by her parents." The maid replied with in a satisfied manner.
"In that case, enjoy your day." Vergil muttered as he lead Vessel out of the room.

After reaching their room, Vergil left Vessel at he door as he went inside to gather his coat, wrist blade, katanas, and his satchel. Within a few minutes, he was back outside.

"Shall we wait for the others then, or go on without them?" He asked casually.

Telnor quickly finished his food, wiped his mouth, collected his plate and made his way to the counter.

"80 Kiel Sir," the cashier told Telnor. Telnor produced the money and walked out.

Making his way to his room, he grabbed his sword and dagger, buckled the sword around his waist and the dagger around his right ankle. He ran to catch up with Vergil and Vessel.

"I'm glad you guys weren't thinking of ditching us. I would have been wounded. Hurt even. A blow to my heart so deep that I may never have recovered.

A maid approached Scarlett and picked up her empty pot of tea and cup. ?I assume that Mr. Vaalender will be paying for that like your breakfast??

?He will.? Scarlett replied. ?And somethings I need to pick up in the district too, can you give me an order form for Mr. Vaalender??

?I can.? The maid looked unconvinced but after a moment returned with a purchase guarantee order form signed by the estate.?Present that to any shop owner in the district and they will add their mark.?

Scarlett began to walk away.

?And please be considerate in your needs??

Scarlett smiled to herself and caught up Vergil, Vessel and Telnor with a wide grin slapped across her face. She loved shopping, especially when it was other peoples money.

"I did spend a few months here in Tinsdal about four five years ago, it was some basic mercenary work over in the Merchant's Quarter. To put it simply, it was to remove some unwanted elements from some disused warehouses." Vergil responded to Vessel question in a simplistic manner. He then noticed Telnor.

"Stop being so melodramatic Telnor, we didn't plan on leaving you behind, it was purely in the event that you and Scarlett took too long." He remarked in a disapproving manner. Vergil then saw Scarlett arrive with a wide grin on her face.

"You seem happy."

Telnor laughed. "Take a joke V-man. Lighten up. Life is good you know. Happy. Sparkly even. No not sparkly. Shinny. Lets go with Shinny. Shinny is good," Telnor turned to face Scarlett as she caught up.

"See. Scarlett knows whats good. Shes happy. Thats good. Big grins everyone. Like a clown. Everyone ready? Yes? Lets go!" Telnor started off before hearing the replies.

Lorel Ion ? Dean?s Mansion - Tinsdal

Lorel noticed many maids and butler?s running around the mansion, the party was in preparation. It was close to being done, but the plates, food, and everything had to be moved back outside from the previous night of snow and because it would soil outside for obvious reasons. He made his way through them and found Itsuka and Velen who were wearing better attire then regular.

Velen was wearing a streak black suit with a red tie, and gold outlines where his outfit ended, his hair was streaked back instead of its normal unkempt hair, and his goatee trimmed ever so slightly. Itsuka was wearing a sky blue dress that covered her legs and feet, and had long thin white gloves over her arms to cover a bit more skin.

They both looked at Lorel who was back to wearing his regular clothes. ?Lorel, you?re going to wear that? I am not the best judge of clothes, but it has rips in it. All over.?

Lorel looked down at himself. ?What else am I to wear??

?Didn?t the Dean provide you with one??

?I haven?t got a clue, I was in the library this whole time.? He told them. ?But I guess I should check my room.?

?You do that.?

Lorel let them and went to him room which was a bit of trek as it was far from their room. When he opened his door he noticed a maid inside who was laying an outfit on his bed. She noticed Lorel, bowed and then left the room and closed the door. His suit was similar to what he was wearing but with large white fur around the neck, and it was red but still had the same gold outlines that his outfit has and the pants were also similar, they were black and also had the red and blue markings but instead the red looked like flames and the blue looked ice.

?Must have cost a lot. Must have worked, they probably got the idea from my outfit I arrived in.?

He put it on and noticed it was quite easy to move in, much easier than his original clothes. Made it feel like he could react faster and move smoother than before.

Hours later? 8 PM

The night sky was above Lorel now, and the party was to start soon, many had arrived in carriages and the street was packed and all shops closed down early. There was no snow coming down so it was a plus, but it was still chilly. He walked in the hallway and noticed Mizuki but she didn?t seem ready yet as she was wearing casual clothes.

?Hey Mizuki.? Lorel spoke.

?Ah, Lorel.? She responded back as if she just got out of a daze.

He looked at her again. ?Why aren?t you ready? Party is to begin momentarily.?

?I just got back from a short trip with my boyfriend, the Dean?s Oldest son.?

His eyes widened up. ?The Dean?s son? Will he be attending??

?Yes, now if you don?t mind, I must go get changed and ready up.? With that she left leaving Lorel alone once more.

Telnor- Tinsdal- Dean's Mansion.

Telnor stepped out of the tub after the sparring with the guards, grabbed the towels left by the maids, wrapped one around his waist and started to dry himself as he made his way to his room. When he was fully dried he threw both towels into a corner, grabbing the clothes he had bought earlier, using the credit Scarlet had provided, explaining it was from her Dad who apparently worked her, he started to put them on.

As Telnor tightened his gold caveat around his neck, he looked in the mirror. Smiling he laughed at the dashing figure he cut. Now if only Jill was here I would have a beautiful date. Ah well. I'm sure I'll have to beat back the ladies with a stick.

Telnor carefully put his sword in a oak wood travel box and slid it under the bed. Telnor grabbed the coat that came the clothes and slid it on. It was extremely comfortable and allowed for great mobility.

He grabbed his new top hat and fitted it onto his head.

He slid on his new fancy shoes and wiggled his toes in them.

Good. Lots of rooms and comfort. Good for dancing.

He grabbed his mask and slid it onto his face.

Telnor grabbed his cane and looked again in the mirror.

Man I look good. Well time to get the others.

Telnor left his room and made his way to Scarlet's.

"Hey Scarlet. You ready to knock everyone at the party dead? Figuratively speaking of course."

Vergil Crawford - The Dean's Mansion - Tinsdal

Vergil was back in the room that he and the Vessel shared.

The suit had been delivered by the maid whilst they'd been out shopping, occasions like these are the few times that Vergil would wear a suit, and in such frequency as well, given the events of the last two weeks.

It was a black suit with a white, long sleeved shirt, and a dark grey waist coat with a silver pattern underneath. He had also bought a red cravat, along with some white gloves, and lighter grey trousers.

The mask he'd been given was something simple, but had a lot of detail to it. It was a cream coloured mask, with dark green and purple pattern, it also had gold around the eyes and mouth.

As Vergil turned to look at the bed, he saw his personal items laid out next to the Vessel. Due to the nature of the party, weapons were not allowed. He then responded to the Vessel's question after she tussled his hair.

"Unfortunately no, only child I am."

"Let's go show them how its done." Vergil remarked as he laid out an arm for her to hold on to.

"I must say, you look perfect." He said with a smile.

Scarlett walked to the mirror and admired her dress, she looked good, far better than she had done in a very long time. A light touch of makeup made her look late twenties instead of early thirties and she smiled to herself trying to think back to a time when she had worn a similar dress. It had been her wedding day.

There was a knock on the door. Scarlett turned with a curious glance.

?Hey Scarlett. You ready to knock everyone at the party dead? Figuratively speaking of course.?

Scarlett?s smile widened at Telnor. She walked to the door and opened it.

?Nice outfit. I?m sure my father would approve of how his money was spent.?

Scarlett giggled cheekily.

"Maybe, uhm, Vessel. There has been something I've been meaning to say now for a while. I think that, this is the perfect moment to say it. Vessel, I love you." Vergil said as he embraced her, and kissed. He then whispered something.

"Anyway, we should be going, don't want to be late now."
