Tear - The Conjures's' Elixir (Tavern) - Tinsdal
She smiled at Vergil and let out a little giggle. She might as well make the most of the time before her friends came and have a little fun. The sight of the man at the back of the tavern wiped the smile from her lips. He leant against the wall with arms folded and cold blue eyes locked on the back of Vergil. There was a flash of steel as the sword was half drawn from it?s sheath. Tear raised a finger and signalled him to keep back. The shaven head and scarred face nodded in response before walking towards the tavern door without further question. She sighed. The mercenaries were already here? Kalyn hadn?t been wrong. Sera had planned far in advance. She looked at Vergil and forced a half smile. When he returned with the wine she took a glass and caught a glance of the label. It had been much better than she had expected.
"Now then, what is it you want to talk about first?" Vergil asked, taking a small sip from his glass. There was a lot of things she wished she could say. After finding her voice at the death of Sera she found it absurd to decide not to speak the truth. Tear made a choice. She caught sight of the mercenary outside looking in. Vergil didn?t seem to notice. His hand was still gripping the hilt of his sword. Tear looked down at the wine in the glass. She decided to avoid the topic occupying her mind. She looked at Vergil in the eyes.
?Sera was like a mother to me. I know she wasn?t the most perfect women in the world but, still, she was all I had. You and Scarlett took that from me. I feel. Lost.? She looked down at her wine. ?Kalyn was someone close to Sera and he was willing to let me take her place but then he was killed. And then Scarlett took the sigil from me. The only connection left to my former life.? She looked up. The mercenary had gone. ?What do I do now? Where do I go. Who do I become??
Tear turned to the Vergil. The pain in her voice was clear. It was a subject matter that hurt deep.
