My sister insists on repeating the words 'Oh no you di-unt'. (Which maybe wouldn't be so bad if she actually said it properly... Damned chav)

My immediate reaction is generally something along the lines of 'Um... Yes, I did.'

"I could care less". It implies that you actually care when you don't. Because of this, I always say "I couldn't care less." Twats.

This is more stupidity but the use of the word addicting pisses me off.
Also " a bad workman blames his tools" pisses me off to no extent.
I've changed it and say "a bad rapist blames his lube" :D
My pet hate is "I COULD care less". Pisses me off so much. People on the internet type it all the time
Time to justify this!

"I could care less", on the surface, looks like it means the opposite of what they mean

BUT!

"I could care less" with the omitted suffix of "if I tried" implies "I *could* care less, but your point matters to me that little that I can't be bothered to put the effort into caring less."

One single word.

''Mission.''

What in FUCK'S name is a mission?
:O

A gamer who doesn't know what a "mission" is?

In context, it means it's extremely difficult, as in "Yeah, I'd walk the 10 miles from the party back home, but it'd be a mission..."

"ADDICTING" IS NOT A WORD.

"ADDICTIVE" IS A WORD.

"ADDICTING" IS NOT.

Why don't people understand this?!?
LOL You'd think people would know this by now. It seems non-words are a trend in today's culture.

This thread is sad. You guys rage about how people talk.

Not like the words are hurting you or anything, you just decide to rage over certain phrases.
Hey, its better than raging over religion.

I hate it when some one refers to something being "gay"! eg: "This computer's gay!" How the hell can an inanimate object be gay? It neither has emotion or sexual preferences.

"Epic Fail." Actually, I also hate "epic" and "fail."

I cannot fucking stand when -for example- I am at work and drop a pen. Three fucking people immediately say "fail" like it's the most intelligent thing ever. And I want to stab each of them.

I have explained to them many times, the only time I will not hurt them after saying "fail" is if you could take a picture of it, put it on failblog, and not have to explain anything.

If whatever they are commenting on does not meet these criteria, people get hurt.

I'm really sick of alot of the Australian cliched sayings. I've never met anyone who says that crap unless they're mocking it themselves. The only one that I do hear is G'day... (shudders)
Australians do say "no worries" all the time though

I'm pretty sure I've been ninja'd with this but people who say "no offense, but..." and then proceed to offend you really get on my nerves. Of course you're trying to offend them, you're just making an attempt at doing it subtly and making yourself look less like an asshole. Anyone can see through it, I don't see the point.

Another one is when people say "I was only kidding!" after a sentence. My brother does this a lot. He obviously wasn't kidding, he was just desperately covering up his stupidity, of which he has in spades. Of all the things he says, that's the one that makes me want to punch him the most.

'peng', 'sick', 'illin' '____ can suck my big toe' 'buff' 'bled' 'and all' - just randomly added to the end of sentences, knew a girl who did this literally every sentence - she really needed a smack. 'come unstuck' - i know it makes sense in a way, but it seems daft when you're actually referring to a point at which you get stuck with something >.<

"I could care less" pisses me off because it's Not Fucking Right.

It's been ballsed up by the Americans, somehow.

The original, and CORRECT phrase is: "I could NOT care less" - implying that the speaker could NOT care any less than he or she already does about the situation.

"I COULD care less" implies that the speaker actually DOES care about the situation.

Do some people really not THINK what they're saying, merely repeating what dumbasses on TV bleat?
This is mine too - it doesn't even rule out that it's the most important thing ever to them

"...no pun intended."

Yes, you did intend it, and nobody laughed, so shut the fuck up.
Absolutely this.
And "you need to pull your socks up"
1) knee length socks pulled all the way up look friggin' retarded and
2) how would the coverage of my ankles bear any relation to the amount of effort I put into something?

"Can you do better?"
No I can't, and I damn sure don't have to in order to tell you that you suck.

If that was the case, then every critic on earth would lose his/her job. Imagine only game developers were allowed to review games.
