Alright so recently i started going out with this girl. She's still....sort of friends with her Ex but at the same time she hates him I know it doesn't make any sense but either way. He has just been a huge dick to me even though he broke up with her and then went out with her best friend. He always makes up things to tick me off and freak me out. She has told me to ignore any and everything that he says which is only so possible. I was wondering 1. Any advice to get him to just shut up and 2. Do you ever have problems with your ex or your significant others ex and please tell me a story to help me get my mind off of this. Thank you!

She probably still has feelings for him. The amount of times I've heard people say they "hate" their ex's is huge. If they hate them so much, why are they always talking about them and why are they still a part of their life? People try to convince themselves that they don't like their ex's anymore so they start telling themselves that they hate them.

But, that's conjecture. I don't know the girl so I can't really say. In regard to your question about getting him to shut up - I have no idea. Any course of action I have thought of would just make the problem worse.

If he knows it's bothering you he will continue to do it. That's all you need to know.

Take your own solution from that truth.
I know that you are right but at the same time i never respond to anything that he says its just exhausting trying to take it all

1. My advice to shut him up? You can make stuff up, too. Tell him you hate annoying people, and you shove chainsaws into their faces, and he's annoying you... Or, you could, you know, just tell him to shut up and stop bothering you.
2. I don't have an ex on account of being a douchebag, but I can tell you a story to get your mind off of this.

Well, I won't tell you the story, but I can show you who can.

Caution: Mind-scaringly retarded story, but heck, it gets my mind off of things. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wes_OdOVdw4]

I'd tell her that she needs to dump her old baggage if you two were to continue dating. If he's really becoming a problem, then she needs to decide if he is more important to her than you. I can tell you right now that SHE isn't worth it if she can't ditch her ex for the sake of a new relationship.

One of my exes stalked me like an animal, and stalked anyone they thought I was gonna date for over a year. You should just be happy her ex isn't like that.

Well how is he able to bother you? Are you in school or something? Just don't even acknowledge his presence if he says something to you, pretend he's not even there. He'll relent and feel like an idiot to boot.

You have 4 options;

-Wrap him in unbreakable chains forged in the heart of a dwarf star

-Trap him in every mirror in existence

-Toss him into a collapsing star

-Suspend him in time and sick him in the middle of a field dressed as a scarecrow

[sup]Or, just talk to your gf about it....my ideas are more fun though![/sup]

Tell her that unless he buggers off, he's going to get his ass kicked.
That's all talk, though. I've been in a similar-ish situation, and doing that probably makes you come off as the bad guy in the end.

Tell her that it bothers you that she still deals with him, especially given that she supposedly can't stand the guy. If she said they were friends, that would be a different situation. If your feelings matter to her - and they're supposed to - then she should have no problem showing him the curb.

He wants your attention, so don't give it to him. Take your girlfriends advice, jsut simply ignore him. He is a real life troll and trying to annoy you as such.

Beat the shit out of him?

I had an ex bothering me once...over and over again. She claimed I was her "best friend" for the longest time. I just lied, and then kept lying...and then continued to lie some more. Eventually she left me alone.

Couldn't be happier since. :')

If he's harassing you then why not make a complaint with the police? Or seek their advice to help avoid him?
