No no no. No. This simply will not do. Your artist will be fixed.

Or, so help us, we will bury you under a pile of money and good wishes.

Best of luck to the pink bean!

If this was in a few months, I'd donate a healthy sum. Sadly, I'm down to living money right now.

Excellent work though, to everyone who donated.

I wonder what it feels like to be on the other side of that - Asking for help with a real problem, to have hundreds of people you don't know and have never met offering their support.

Donated $50. I wish I was rich, I'd donate much more, but sadly, living alone takes its toll on my paycheck.

Get well, Allison! As a musician, there is nothing that frustrates me more than situations like yours. I sincerely hope you make a full recovery!

Happy to help out - sadly I just bought my pubclub membership like... Monday, so I'm slightly tapped but every bit helps and it's a worthy cause.

I would like to say how impressed that I am with the Extra Credit's team spirit and how they are going out of their way and making this request to fans on behalf of their hurt member. That's a wonderful thing and I'm proud to be a small part of it.

Holy hole in a doughnut, that's a lot of cash to lay down. I tip my top hat to you, sir.

*donates*

There's something wrong with your country if you have to open an Internet petition to get surgery. Best of luck!

This thread really makes me smile. We hear so much about the evils in the world--wars, atrocities, murders, etc--and so get a jaded perspective on humanity. But when it comes to helping someone out, even if someone's just donating five or ten dollars (an amount that shouldn't be of consequence to most people), they're still willing to help someone else in need. There is yet hope for humanity.

I haven't donated yet and don't know if I'll be able to, but I'll see if I can later today.

I hate EC a hell of a lot, and honestly consider it the worst thing on this site (yes, even worse than Jimquisition), but any person who is suffering should be helped, so while on a personal level I'd love the show to end, not like this, and so on a humanitarian level, I'm for helping them continue to make things I hate.

Well, there you go, $20. I doubt the T-shirt will be available outside of the US, but still happy to help. Get better!
And also, really proud of the community!!

Wow, donated a bit myself (would've bought an Extra Credits T anyway) but it's really awesome to see them get double what they asked for in 24 hours, or however long it has been.

As James said, really is quite heartwarming.

They should have started a 'kickstarter'. What now will they do with 20,000 unneeded dollars?
I think someone stated earlier that they either intend to give the extra money to charity or buy back the equipment they need for the show that they hawked in anticipation of financial burden.

Kickstarter would have probably been a bad choice, only because it operates on pledges rather than immediate donations. Had the EC crew been unable to raise their goal ($15,000) in the allotted time (60 days), they would receive no money at all. This RocketHub service appears to give you whatever money you do make if you don't reach the goal, and any donation is better than none.

This is what makes us great here. Even people hate the show want to help it. If that ain't the truest definition of awesome community, I dunno what is.

Jesus H. Christ, $25,000? The Escapist has hella community support. And rich people. Good job, y'all!
Rich in character yes, yes they are. Money comes and goes it is replaceable, people are not.
At least until cloning is invented. But then, I don't really want a Rebel Flesh scenario.
