Why the hell did they keep Casandra in if they wanted more interesting characters? As long as Raphael is in it, I guess I'll buy it.
Where do you see Cassandra?

OT: I never much cared for AC so this isnt a selling point it seems to be to other people. this is going to be my last SC game, so the only real interesting question to me is if he's going to be the the starkiller or the yoda/vader equivalent.

This news makes me happy.
I don't think I'll be able to stop smiling for at least half an hour.

2-player I thought. Isn't that her shield? She looks kinda different but I thought it was her.

Ezio makes more sense than Yoda, so why not. However, picture could be fake.

Looking forward to Soul cali 5 regardless, I missed soul cali 4 but would like to get back into the series.

Well he's not my favourite assassin.
I think player 2's character has the correct emotional response.

Tons of character's cool looking attacks involve lighting effects and fire. I don't think that fits Ezio. Is he going to pull the apple out?

I'll continue to stick to Nightmare and Siegfried.

Wouldn't be the first time that characters unrelated to soul caliber were featured in a soul caliber game. Link, Tekken, Spawn, a bunch of Star Wars peeps for some reason... at least Ezio makes some kind of sense. On his way to Constantinople he runs into Asteroth!

Meanwhile, Desmund in the animus is all like "WTF just happened?"
LOL! Thank you for making this AC fan laugh my good sir.

It would be at least mildly interesting to see how they work the AC fiction into the SC fiction. The devs actually found ways to incorporate the fiction of the guest characters from SCII (Spawn, Link, that Tekken guy whose name I don't remember) into the SC fiction. It was contrived, but it worked.

I wonder what they would do with Ezio.

thats Pyrrha, Sophitia's stolen daughter. She's the soul edge equivalent to the soul calibur Patroklos. This game takes place 17 years later, that cant be cassandra cause she doesnt look older (and I know, Ivy hasnt aged at all, and Tira looks.... something the same, but not everyone is getting the free pass on aging).

Also, in most recent games, Cassandra went a colour shift.

Going in progression of release since Cassandra entered:

<spoiler=Soul Calibur 2 she had a blue shield>http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080517212620/soulcalibur/images/0/05/Sc2-cassandra.jpg
<spoiler=Soul Calibur 3 she went a colour change and got pink>http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080206034547/soulcalibur/images/2/28/Cass-soul3art.jpg
<spoiler=Soul Calibur 4 it stayed pink>http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090616231056/soulcalibur/images/f/fe/Cassandra-alexandra-in-soul-calibur-4-jpg.jpg
<spoiler=Soul Calibur Broken Destiny continued the pink trend>http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091010003412/soulcalibur/images/6/6f/Scbd_pcwp_cassandra_1024x768.jpg

Sophitia has always used the blue shield since her first appreance in Soul Edge, which the pink shield being her 2 player. Cassandra got the pink shield mostly for a distinguishing factor between her and her sister Sophitia when both of them used a blue shield as their 1 player costume in SC 2.

And actually, if you look at cassandras shield, you can tell its not.

<spoiler=Seen here in SC2 pic, cause its the easiest to see>http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080517212620/soulcalibur/images/0/05/Sc2-cassandra.jpg

That symbol on her shield is a reference to Greek Nemea, and is called the Nemea shield on her <url=http://soulcalibur.wikia.com/wiki/Cassandra>wiki page.

Looking closer at the shield, Soul Cal fans will recognize that as the <url=http://soulcalibur.wikia.com/wiki/Sophitia>Elk Shield.

<spoiler=Famously wielded by Sophitia, as seen here in a SC 4 screen shot against cassandra>http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090911204544/soulcalibur/images/c/c2/T_soulcalibur4_tgs07_englishdub_0002.jpg

There interesting thing is that <url=http://soulcalibur.wikia.com/wiki/Pyrrha>Pyrrha is listed as using the Elk Shield and Omega Sword, which SC fans will again recognize as Sophitia's go to sword and shield combo. Which raises the question as to whether or not Sophitia's going to make the game (as some had speculated) and what will happen, since it was speculated that her contamination by Soul Edge history would be fleshed out and she would be something like a Nightmare figure. Cassandra has long since been ruled out as appearing.

...

So TL;DR, no, thats not Cassandra, simply cant be cause the people at the team have already said they werent going to bring her in.

I want to see this referenced in a future AC game.

Desmond: Guys! Guys! I was in the Animus and Ezio faught a Moe Ninja, a Zombie Priate, a woman with a sword-whip and bondage gear and some giant muthafucker with a Axe!

Lucy: ...I think you need to lay of the Animus for a while...

Shaun: Well thats putting it mildly Lucy...

Rebecca *after pushing a 360/PS3 (thats connected to the animus) out of view*: Hehehe... yeah, thats just weird...

Well I haven't played a SC game for a while so I was thinking of looking to check this out. This only gives me more a reason to as it looks interesting. At least Ezio fits much better than the star wars characters.

CAPTCHA:ethichil was.

ethichil was what?

My bad. Thanks for the explanation :) I remembered something about a sister although I thought it was a reskin with the same moves (which it might have been, haven't played SCII in a looooong time.)

Yay...I guess? I guess this would this congrats to Namco for finally adding a guest character that I don't care about.

This means I don't have to buy it, so that's good.

And to all the people who are saying this makes more sense than the Star Wars guys, I'll be the first to admit that star wars characters always felt out of place, but am I the only one who remembers that Star Wars takes place "A LONG TIME AGO in a galaxy far away"?

yep.

though Cassandra isnt just a 'reskin.'. She has her own moves and style (at least in Soul cal 4). She's a more offensive and power sophitia model, while sophitia is one of the more balanced characters ever since her intro duction. they play similar if you dont get big into the characters themselves, but once you do, you begin to see the subtle but radical differences. though most of it only matters on online play.

I dont know how Pyrrhas going to play, but Id imagine she'll be a less powerful more defensively minded sophitia.
