It's not "for the sake of casuals", it's for the sake of balancing magic so you can't just spam your best spell over and over without relying on overtly gamey (and thus immersion breaking) systems like MP or arbitrary cooldown times.

Maybe, I'd rather have MP or cooldowns, at least you don't have to stand around being vulnerable in the middle of battle waiting for them.GloatingSwine post=9.73468.805849 said:It's not "for the sake of casuals", it's for the sake of balancing magic so you can't just spam your best spell over and over without relying on overtly gamey (and thus immersion breaking) systems like MP or arbitrary cooldown times.
I believe there's a safety switch which you can turn on and off to make your co-op partners actions permenant or not.CmdrGoob post=9.73468.796535 said:If your co-op player is a bastard, they can kill your husband/wife and children. Which might actually be okay, because in that demonstration the developers NPC husband looked like a ungrateful twat.
Answer: Because if someone, anyone, realises that 'it could well happen to them' based on them contracting it in the game then it will all be worthwhile. On a more down-to-earth note, it helps build up a real, living world, which is rather the point of the whole thing.Indigo_Dingo post=9.73468.803854 said:Ok, this is me being serious - can anyone give any justification as to why the game has STDs? That sounds more like Molyneaux showing that hes a bit immature rather than a major technical innovation. Plus, that is likely to scare off a couple of players, and its not likely to draw any new ones in (at least I kinda hope not - I really don't want to think that there are gamers who are looking for a Chlamydia sim)
Why does that make me more happy to have pre-ordered the game? And why be tasteful? Grand Theft Auto is a hit and it's not tasteful. God of War is a hit and it's not tasteful.TsunamiWombat post=9.73468.806052 said:It's in incredibly poor taste?yourkie1921 post=9.73468.806027 said:Any reason to not have them?shatnershaman post=9.73468.804375 said:So that the children can learn the formula for calculating Speed,Time and Distance.Indigo_Dingo post=9.73468.803854 said:Ok, this is me being serious - can anyone give any justification as to why the game has STDs?
I don't. I liked the combat in Fable1 way more than most RPGs (and by RPGS I mean actual RPGs not everything that can be labeled an RPG)the first fable's combat was pretty basic, I really thought of fighting in fable one as a chore. Hopefully this will be offset by the fact that the levels are bigger -- and maybe u can avoid mobs...?
Hardly. It's not as if they're going "LOL! AIDS!".TsunamiWombat post=9.73468.806052 said:It's in incredibly poor taste?yourkie1921 post=9.73468.806027 said:Any reason to not have them?shatnershaman post=9.73468.804375 said:So that the children can learn the formula for calculating Speed,Time and Distance.Indigo_Dingo post=9.73468.803854 said:Ok, this is me being serious - can anyone give any justification as to why the game has STDs?
