Gotta buy it. The gameplay looks solid enough, but it the writing that gets me.

There's a wit to the Fable games that I just can't help but love.

And everything I've seen confirms it to me.
Totally agree. Along with that, there's a certain something that Fable has that I can't qiute put my finger on. It's got a certain charm to it that keeps me going back and enjoying it, flaws and all.

I played and beat all the karmas i could in fable 2, and done all the sidequest for my first one. then when i was about to start doing classes was when i realized what, i was doing... not having fun. i wont get into detail, but no im not going to get fable 3 unless my sister buys it. Plus I still have to keep money for The Last Guardian.

I'm a few hours in and let me tell you all, it is marvelous. I've always loved the Fable series, and this is a wonderful installment thus far.

The Fable series is the very gaming definition of overhyped. Never has a series constantly promise us the world, and yet deliver such forgettable, dull, and worst of all, GENERIC games, one after the other.

I used to be a Molyneaux fan back in the day of Bullfrog (R.I.P.), but no more. I learn from my mistakes.

i enjoyed the first two for sure so ill be getting it soon. i had it pre ordered for pc but that wont be coming out for months now so i cancelled that and will probably buy it for 360 for now then rebuy it when pc comes out and (hopefully its moddable, since its taking frickin an extra 3 months or so for it to come out for pc)

it looks solid though, and unlike so many people i dont listen to peter M's hype, and i dont blame or judge the game based on that.

This game is out Tuesday and I'm pumped for it. I have loved the first two games and this one sounds even better. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they let you control being king and ruling the land.

Anyone else excited for this game? Or think it's just another over hyped game from Lionhead?
We don't even have the game yet. How do we know if it is Awesome or Overhyped.
It's called a prediction. At this stage you can think either way. Then when it comes out you can decide again.

It's overhyped.

Molyneux does it every time and people fall for it every time.

Fable one was mediocre at best.

Fable II was mediocre at best, but marred with several bugs that made me hate it.

Fable III, dunno, haven't played it yet. It might be very good. I'll probably just grab it out of a bargain bin in a year or so.

But seriously Molyneux, Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on you again, fool me three times? shame on me.
Totally not how that goes. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and curb-stomped by [insert your name here]. That's the way to do it.

OT: I dabbled in the first Fable. Honestly, I have more fun being a dick to people in real life, so why play a game to do that when the only difference is I look ugly in a game when I do it? I'm more looking forward to Rock Band 3 for that keyboard peripheral. Finally, something for the keyboard player!

Some free stuff if you buy the game brand new:

The one-time-use Xbox Live card grants access to the following DLC for the high-profile Xbox 360 RPG:

* Call forth undead minions to your aid with the Raise Dead Potion
* Extend battle time for more attacks with the Slow Time Potion
* For the fashionably conscious, try on and keep the Scot Male Hero Outfit or the Scot Female Hero Outfit
* Looking to get inked? The Highlander Tattoo Set will be perfect for your hero or heroine
* With the Red Setter Dog Skin, you can transform your faithful furry companion into a whole new breed

Maybe the 3rd time is the charm?? but I doubt it, the game series has been very kiddie oreinted and I dont see it straying from that.

This game is pure win! Even if its somehow horrid ill still cuddle with ti at night!
Peter can over hype an ant bringing a small piece of grain back to its colony and say "its a new age for ants" (just think of him narrating planet earth, you know you want it)
It will be awesome and i can see the complaint threads about The Hero hands clipping through a tree and the 5x other threads!

Its awesomely over hyped or over hypenly awesome?

but whatever happens ill love this game and Haters gonna hate.

The two options aren't mutually exclusive.

I always felt the hate for Fable 1 was unfair, granted I never kept up with the hype. I enjoyed the game, it was actually fun. And all too often, fun seems to be a quality that developers forget to put in their games.

Anyway, I'm sure Fable 3 will keep in tradition of the games being fun, not extravagant or life changing, but fun.

I'm excited and I know I'll love it because I loved the first two. There are already walkthroughs on YouTube that I am tempted to watch (though I don't want to spoil the experience) and I am completely excited because I know I'll love it even if it sucks.

I won't buy it, but I'll wait for my friend to get bored of it, and probably enjoy.

I preordered the collector's edition in June or July. In less than 24 hours, I'll have the game and, hopefully, will only be about halfway through. So, obviously, you can see that I think it's awesome, but I haven't hyped myself up too much. I know what Molyneux is like with his games.
