On a seperate note, does anyone know how to unlock that gate by the guard tower in Bowerstone Market? That damn silver key has been taunting me the entire game.
There's a divepoint in the river. Just swim around in there til you find it, dive, and you *should* pop out to grab the silver key (Untested, but from a reputable source)

Now confirmed and in more detail! From the bridge, facing towards the market square, jump off the left side. With both shores to your sides, you should see a wooden platform with a small set of stairs leading up to it on your front-left. Beneath where the platform and the stairs meet is a divespot. Dive to access the Silver Key (and a Children's Health Potion in my game)

So, apparently your coop partner really does join in all of your escapades, wink-wink.

Here's an example:
Develop a homosexual relationship -- get married, get a house, &c.
Observer how having unprotected sex with your spouse doesn't lead to kids. Try it a bunch of times if you must.
Bring in a henchman character of the opposite sex.
Go bone your sweetie.
You'll get a child (might take a few tries, but you'll get a child).

-- Alex
So your co-op partner should be for sex? Wah?

Head to a stylist (Bowerstone Market/Bloodstone). Pick a hairstyle. They're magic stylists so it insta-grows when your purchase it. It's pretty cheap too :D

Go to a stylist (bowerstone or bloodstone) and get a haircut, somehow they can regrow your hair!

I've recently discovered that the most fun thing to do is kill someone in town, resist arrest, then when the guards come in (seems to be a limit on how many guards show up at a time, seems it's three)
Shooting their weapons out of their hands (which for some reason affects their ability to actualy chase you at speed (they just walk with their duking arms up)

Giving you enough time to charge up a full power Chaos spell, which then causes them to have an all out fist fight with eachother, the third one tends to try and find a villager to smack about.

While they're doing this you can feel free to point and laugh at them, i do.

But like previous posters have mentioned i think it's a bit stupid that you cannot get by simply on Will alone.
Which is why i've had to kit my Mage woman with a master Flintlock Pistol and the Hammerthyst (the legendary hammer, no spoilers on how to get it for those who haven't played yet)

Which really, if it wasn't for the fact that it's a tiny, skinny, evil Mage woman weilding a giant hammer and shooting guards in the crotch for nothing other then giggles, i'd be miffed.

So really if you can think of a reason as to why your characters would be a Mage built like a brick shit house or a crack shot who can shoot a fly from 50 yards and only take off it's wings.
Then it all runs mush smoother.

But that being said, it still would be a bit better if you could get by with magic alone.

You can actually, just expect to die a fair amount. My character is basically full mage and i can kill most things quickly apart from trolls. For me, raise dead helps a lot, it takes all the attention off you.

Plus does anyone know what completing all the archaeologist quests does? Ive noticed a door underneath the archaeologist quest giver and it wont open for me.

Same case with my Mage, tricked out with all spells, found the right combo for me that can kill most enemies.
Surprisingly i haven't died yet.
I've come close. But i guess that's my over-caustious style of magic combat.

Apparently some kind of diamond, or rare Jewel, seemingly the Games many tombs are filled with them.
You have the option of handing it over to her or just shooting her in the face and taking it for yourself.

Great options in my opinion.
But really there are only one use for rare gems, and that is to sell them off.

On that subject, where is "the winding road by the sea?" I've been to everywhere I can think of but I haven't found anything.

I Beg To Differ. Play Smart And Spend Your Experience Wisely, And You'll Be Blasting Aside All In Your Path With Ease.

Time Stop, Then Raise Dead. Then Higher Time Stop. Then Force Push, Blades Or Inferno Those Suckers Into The Abyss.

Vortex Is Just Plain Fun When You Can Time Stop Before Hand.

Admittedly yeah you have a point against the average enemy, but what this covers just about everything from Beetles(why you'd even need high level spells for them i don't know) to Spire Guards.

But there are some enemies, two that come to mind immediately that are just resistant to most spells, even high level ones seem to have very little affect on them.

The two i'm talking (the list is now three, i forgot Trolls but everyone knows they can't be affected)

Are the commandants and Shards.
(i won't go into character or story details)

Commandants being able to resist the affects of most spells (i haven't personally tested them all) but the ones i have tested are: Vortex, Chaos and most spells with a knock back affect.
Besides Force Push, when used as a target spell it's amazingly leathal
They also can take about two full, higher powered inferno shots, even in fireball form.

Shards, as far as i've been able to tell cannot be killed with Magic and considering they tend to show up and summon commadants and Spire Guards you're usually more focused on clearing them.

Trolls, as with shards you need Guns to kill, although, i managed to kill the swamp troll with magic alone...

It was a case of: rank 1 slow time, run behind the troll, quickly follow up with rank 1 slow time again, follow that with rank 3 slow time, then blast it with rank 5 inferno, repeat until it's health bar is gone.

It's not the greatest or fastest method, and it's definitely a more risky method, as you have to really put a rush on your casting otherwise you're likely to be met with a punishing blow from said troll.

which has an added annoyance in slow time because your body flies three times as high and about 5 times as far as ragdolling at normal speed.

But yeah, that's why in my opinion it's tough to go through the game on simply magic alone.
Then again, if i found a way to beat the trolls with only magic then everything else couldn't be anymore difficult.

EDIT:[Instead of going back and correcting my mistakes in this post i thought i'd make mention of the fact i haven't slept in roughly two days, thus my typing is a bit on the crap side.]

Hmm, good suggestions, guess i've been ignoring all majority of spells in favour of the ones i'm more comfortable with.

I'll have to try out some of those on my Magic character when i next play her.
as for now though i'll just stick with getting my Gunslinger and my Hammer-swinging fat guy up to the same point she's at, shouldn't take me too long.

After collecting enough of those ancient scrolls, she opens the door. You pop in, really short dungeon (literally two minutes walk), fight two of those mini-shard things and grab this big gem thing from a treasure chest. Head back to the door and the archaeolgist is stood there. She asks for the gem and I gave it to her. Got good points and a lump sum of 50,000g. You can probably just walk out on her and sell the gem yourself, which'd get your more money, but also evil points and you'd be ruining a fictional character's life work.

Amnestic: Commandants are resistant to all but high level spells.

And shards can be killed by magic, like the commandants they require higher spells. I whacked a shard once with a fully charged lightning bolt, it justs take a bit of XP investement.
