Really? It's been many years since I've played the game, but I think I recall being able to slow down time during battle and rewind if anything went wrong. I'm not too sure though...
You can slow it down, but you slow down too if I remember. And the rewind is just rewinding.

Battles between capital spaceships. Battlefront 2 was the only game that did this moderately well, but it could be much improved.
X3 Reunion + terran conflict.
Nexus The jupiter incident (Or imperium galactica III both names are used, the latter a lot less)

Every Single Zombie game ever made never did it right even left 4 dead, and by right I mean where you could turn into a zombie and then turn an entire city into zombies over a course of a 20 hour campaign.

Mirrors Edge is currently £15 in Tesco (and a few other places). That's effectively a third of its original retail price. I can't believe it did that badly.
I don't think it's about it doing badly. A lot of stores were selling recently released games for half price in the run up to Christmas and now the January sales are here they need to keep a momentum going. Credit crunch and all that. Besides, I wouldn't complain about games being affordable!

Edit: Not that you were complaining...

Free-running games are a failed concept.

Assasins Creed was more to with combat than free-running and recieved moderate review scores
Prince of Persia's free-running was too easy and bland.
Mirrors Edge bombed.

Not so much a game play concept but rather a story concept. Time travel. I'm sure some games have done it well or OK but a lot of games leave gaping plot holes. Plus there are no set rules of time travel so it can be confusing if you idea of time travel is different then the creators.

There is no mammoth tanks in Red Alert, those were in the Tiberium Universe.
But I agree. elite units are evil, and either mine die really easily, or the enemies just won't die.
Err. There were mammoth tanks in the orginal red alert and nobody bluit anything else.

The totally awesome-ness of 1 guy taking out entire battlions with a thought and having the gore be their.

GOW Very Close
Force unleash- Nice use of powers, Need Lightsabers more and Alot More Gore, hell make it M

Path of Neo(If anyone remembers)- It was damn near close, if they can make that again with the graphics of this day it would be great. The weapons, you had a choice in about 1 million.

weapon degeneration. its just annoying no matter what game its in.

it doesnt feel right when it breaks before it kills any enemy (RE outbreak)

and it always costes about three kidneys worth of cash to repair it in RPGs.
Far Cry 2 did it quite well.

Wasn't there a thread like this earlier?

Oh well. Badly implemented game ideas: Adding a storyline to an MMO unless you can actually pull it off, which to this day I have not seen. Arcady life systems where you get a game over after 3 lives or something similar.
I feel warhammer online has pulled off a storyline pretty well, I wasn't into warhammer before the mmo so I might not be the best judge though.

The Tome of Knowledge is great if you want to know exactly why greenskins like throwing fecal matter and statues.

Spore failed epically. A shame really since it was such a good concept. It just tried to be too much and to satisfy everyone.. It ended up satisfying noone but toddlers with brain damage and people who like play-doh a bit too much.

Olympic Games games are a good concept. Noone has ever been able to pull it off properly though.. Not even Mario and Sonic could make it work.

Gothic III should have turned out a lot better..

Guild Wars, anyone?
