Well, after seeing how easy the game is with it. I know it is the only way to get darkrai and cressela (I think), but you can steal other pokemon, get full on all Item, 1-hit KOs, etc.
Actually, Cresselia can be found without any special circumstances, you just go to the port town (west-most city) and talk to either the guy at the boat to iron island or someone inside the house right next to the boat. Unfortunately, Cresselia is one of those obnoxious pokemon that run around the worldmap like total dicks.
yeah so I heard. I just saw a guy go to the two islands above Iron Ialand by walking through the ocean below it (using a action replay, its all black and you have to use the 'run through walls' cheat to get there) and he got a darkrai and scared away creesela (both shiny because of cheat)

The worst one I ever fell for was a Aprils fools joke in a magazine that had pictures of Sonic and Tails in Smash Bros. Melee. It said something like beat 100 people in Cruel Melee mode and then beat adventure mode to see a special boss that would unlock the fight with Sonic after, and beating or something.

I tried forever and still didn't get it. I was so stupid that I tried deleting my unlocked characters thinking it would give less chances of the wire frames I couldn't get past easily, but I didn't realize there's only like 4 different ones they use. I felt like an idiot when I told my friend and he showed me the next months issue of the magazine where they had so many complaints that they had to do a huge thing showing that they just photo shopped the pictures, because so many people complained to them or something.

I guess I'll throw in some more pokemon goodies.

The mew one I heard was that if you don't take the SS Anne, (you have to trade for a cut-knowing pokemon to get the that gym), you can come back once you have surf and surf around it into the open ocean, where you'd find an island cave that had mew.

Another was that if you had a level 100 chancey and went to mt. moon and used the item finder 100 times with an open spot on your team you would receive a message like "What?!? Chancey's egg is hatching!" and get a Togepi.

And once a friend of mine gave me an idea for a trick to play on my sister, I caught a magikarp, and named it mew. Then went into a link with my sister and asked if she wanted to trade for it. I got a final-stage starter out of it. But then I was nice and traded it back and battled her, she kicked my ass because i only played with one pokemon back then, and she took it out in one hit and the rest of mine were at their starting levels.

Why is there so much deception regarding Pokemon games? The Pokemon fanbase sounds vicious.
Little children just like to fuck with eachother's minds. Really, little kids are pure evil.

And yes, sadly I have also encountered those lies, especially the Mew-behind-the-truck one.

In Pokemon there are so many, it's ridiculous.

The first one I heard all those years ago was that if you talk to EVERY person in the game, catch all the pokemon, and walk on every spot in the whole game, you get Mew.

Second was that if you put the GBA version of Silver or Gold into the N64 slot (Even though it wouldnt fit easily) you could play pokemon on the TV, and Get Mewthree ( A super version of Mewtwo apparently).

Third, (And I followed this one through, mind) If you open up your gameboy, and TAKE OUT THIS ONE PART you can make all your pokemon go to lvl 100 super fast, because that part was what stopped them leveling so quickly. Needless to say, the "Pokemon EXP inhibitor" was actually the BIOS chip for the system. Bye-bye gameboy.

I remember when I used to play Runescape. So many hours wasted... So cold... So cold... Anyway, those of you who play or used to play it will probably know there was a Runescape before the current one. What was funny, was, somehow a rumor got started that there was a Runescape 2. Nerds ran around flipping their shit like it was the end times. Actually, it kinda was. They were running around trading, demonstrating, and pissing off the mods, trying to get as much as they could in before Jagex came out with the new one. I was convinced for a while. The whole time, no one realized that what they were playing was Runescape 2.

Actually, it wasn't Missingno. that rendered your game unplayable (although it did mess it up a little bit). I've caught one before, nothing really happened--nothing worse than the item duplication glitch.

The glitch Poke'mon M' will mess up your game if you catch it, however. It's not as common as Missingno., but I have seen it.

Missingno runs deeper than Pokemon, apparantly, from Wikipedia:

The book Playing with Videogames studied the effect of MissingNo. in depth, noting players' tendency to react to the glitch with curiosity and examine their own notes along with individual "sightings" reports, and assess and critique each other's findings. The book further noted the extent to which gaming communities revolving around Pokémon have attempted to make the glitch Pokémon a real aspect of the game's world, through detailed fan fiction, fan art, and similar, in turn inspiring creativity. It last noted that in this process the individuals were celebrating and publicizing imperfections in the game while attempting to imprint themselves on the canon, and added that the circumstances surrounding MissingNo.'s popularity is a unique case with little room to reproduce.

That's deep.

Without spoiling too much of the plot/storyline, Aeris is a character from Final Fantasy VII, who during the course of the game dies, and it is generally considered to be one of the most emotional moments in gaming history because the story is very invested in her. There are many references throughout the game that would lead you to believe that doing certain things would allow her to be resurrected, but it is impossible without a gameshark or cheating device, and even then it doesn't change the story, just makes her playable.

Look it up online, some of the things people did, myself included, are pretty detailed and ridiculous.

I don't know how old you are, but if you're into rpg's and level grinding, you should really give it a shot. It was a revolutionary game for it's time, and it would be interesting to know what somebody who has never played the game thinks of how it holds up with fresh eyes, as the game is ten years old now I believe. It is availible for download off of PSN, I believe.

Also, and I mean no offense, you should think about using spellcheck or something similar when posting, you know how people get around here!
