They said that the DLC would be exclusive before Fallout 3 was even released. That's kinda like me buying MGS4 and being mad that it won't work in my 360.

I am also still kinda mad that we got Yoda instead of Vader for Soul Calibur, but meh, what can you do? *shrugs*
Check the DLC, buddy.

Xbox 360 breeds the word failure, its funny that MS need to use money to get exclusive DLC to try and win the competition, but PS3 has other plans, so no loss there and in the end MS will just fall short of the PS3 and the WII is a sellout, no argument lol.
Reg, I hope to god you're not holding up Sony as some paragon of corporate ethics. I dont own either console, but paying money for DLC at least falls within the principles of the free market, ruthless as they may be. Considering the torrent of lies, half-truths, backpedalling and retconning I've seen from Sony with regards the PS3 and the SIXAXIS/Dualshock debacle (oh and that "Cousin Pete" PSP fiasco") I'm actually in a position to forgive Microsoft almost anything.

Oh, and dont forget Sony securing publishing rights to the Ghostbusters and then delaying the release on other platforms.

Hardly playing fair either really, and I doubt very much they secured that deal with an empassioned speech and the odd teary eye.

PS, if Sony could have forseen the Wii's success and re-hashed the PS2 to capture that market, they would have. They'd be fools not to. And shock horror, they are developing Wii-like motion control for the PS3.

My issue with this is not with Sony or Microsoft at all, it's with Bethesda themselves. Oblivion was a looong game, so was Morrowind. Fallout 3 is by Bethesda's standards incredibly short and the fact that you stop levelling after level 20 irritating to say the least. All the DLC that has come out for 360 so soon after the release of the game MUST have been ready before the release of the original game, the dev time just isn't there for any other answer. So Bethesda are deliberately witholding part of their game so they can make more money out of you the consumer for it. Thats just cynical.

It was different with the Oblivion DLC, because the original game was so vast and the DLC came much later in the day. I have no problem with companies like DLC like extra multiplayer maps for games like Halo and COD.

What really pisses me off is what Bethesda have done here and what EA have done with things like Tiger Woods - selling courses that used to be onthe disk as DLC.

I genuinely feel sorry for PS3 owners who don't even get the option to buy DLC but I won't be buying Fallout DLC any time before hell freezes over.

Save your cash and get mythic for halo 3 instead!!! Oh sorry Sony fans, you can't ;)

Fallout 3 DLC is for the 360 and the PC.

And if you want to complain about FO3 for the PS3 complain about its bad quality, considering that the PS3 has the so fabled SUPAH hardware, FO3 for the PS3 is the worst version of the game.
But that has nothing to do with the system. Bethesda is just lazy when it comes to porting.

360 is a bigger-market, so I guess they went exclusive with the dlc because of that.
then why was the bioshock DLC PS3 exclusive?
The ps3 having bioshock exclusive dlc, doesn't deter from the fact that the 360 is a vastly larger market.

Now.
Watch the xbots disappear from this thread.

It's okay, they just have to go figure out what they can rub in our faces next.

Jeeesus. Not this shit again.

Look, it is called a "console war" for a reason. Both consoles have their advantages and disadvantages. And for the 360, more DLC is one hell of a advantage.

See, devs have to PAY Sony of they want to put up DLC on PSn, or so I've heard.

Now give me one reason why Bethesda should want to put it one the PSN?

pl0x, beth, I <3 fo3, no dlc 4 ps3 no fair <-- Doesn't count

Trust me, Sony doesn't screw u over as much as MS, the first PS3 I had wouldn't play online and I didn't have a warranty to get it repaired, so instead of being like MS and charging me money and taking weeks to send me a new one, Sony sent me a brand new PS3 within a week at no cost, but if I had a Xbox and got RROD and didn't have a warranty, MS would charge me and takes weeks to send me a new one. The RROD is MS middle finger to u.

The Wii is a sellout? Are you serious?

These are companies. With money on thier minds.

They will always choose what they percieve to be the best option for generating income, they were never non-business orientated in the first place.

Calling a company a sell out is like calling shit stinky.
Nintendo went from breeding Hardcore fans to catering to non-gamers. I'm not saying it was a poor business decision. I'm saying it was a brilliant one, but from a gamer's perspective, it was a sellout.

What other plan? If it exists, I have seen no evidence of it. What's the plan, play dead by releasing a long series of lackluster games while Xbox dominates sales? Besides, how does 360 breed failure? Are you actually going to support any of that, or just try ball-busting (because that's worked in the past, right?)
Heavy Rain (The game without a game over screen), MAG (256 players), also some good exclusive like Uncharted 2, Infamous, tell me, what do Xbox have planned??? Just think of what else Sony have in store for us. Also, sales does not mean a system is better, it just tells me alot of people are too cheap to buy a PS3, also the Xbox 360 has reached it's peak, the PS3 can still do much more. Finally, the Xbox breeds failure because of RROD and scratching up your games and that they offer u nothing but crappy Halo games.
= "Nothing but crappy Halo games"... really? I haven't seen this much denial since Bill Clinton, right before he fessed up.
= Heavy Rain = Incapability of failing/dying? I'm sure that'll be good. Besides, it's made by the same people who did Farenheit. Until I play this game for myself, I'm just going to assume it is going to be as awful as their first go at it.
= MAG = Ambitious, sure, but I would have a hard time believing that the load times and internet connections could be bearable. Think about it, you would still have to act on the existing "host" system, and that is faulty when it's only eight people. Even if the system could handle it, could ALL of the player's internet connections?
= Uncharted 2 = The first one was.. cliche and weird? I have no reason to doubt the second won't be as weird.
= Infamous = Granted, I've been waiting for something like this. Congratulations, PS3 got one more point! Woooo!
= Logical fallacy: False Dichotomy. Just because they didn't buy the PS3 means that they must be cheap. Are you sure they didn't realize that they would have just liked the 360 better?
= PS3's and 360's have not reached their peak. I'm sure that the PS3 could outperform engine-wise when it came down to it, but what game is REALLY using it? (A SUCCESSFUL one, mind you.)
= RROD is behind us. Yeah, a new system had problems at its beginning. It appears more hardware has that problem than those who don't. That is true for non-consoles as well.
= It doesn't scratch them up? I own several of the 360 launch games, bought when they were first released, and they don't have a scratch on them. That's called being careful.
U are just a simple Xbox owner who wont accept that his system will be beat, so anyway, what (cough) great exclusives (cough) does Xbox 360 have???

Anyone have any thoughts on this
Question marks. They are often used to denote queries in Modern English.

For example: Quit whining and pony up the money to purchase a console that developers are producing content for?

Hate to be the voice of evil here, but if you want to buy a game, and might consider the possibility of any kind of augmenting, patching or upgrading it in future: get the pc version.

Consoles loose this battle over and over again. sure you can get it for an xbox... but pc defines compatibility. Yes the 360 is the top contender for downloadable content on consoles, but I have yet to be impressed with any console game version compared to its pc alternative; that user made bug fix is not available for your platform... sorry, game over.

That and my pc crashes far less often :p In the console world, you cant expect any more than what comes in the box.

I could say the same for you. I am sorry, but I can at least admit that I am not a gamer who spends every waking minute playing video games. I do not know of any games, offhand, that the 360 holds on its own. I do not need to. I know that it has the games that I want: Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead(360/PC only), Mass Effect(360/PC only), Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, and so forth. I don't need to prove that the 360 is better than your PS3. Get your head out of your ass and get the rest of you off of the pedestal.

Listen, I am barely interested in the after-sales support provided by these companies since I'm neither style of fanboy. That, and frankly console kiddies are fast becoming the whiniest consumer electronic market segment in the history of mankind; if a machine serves you for more than a year and then breaks, it has exceeded statutory warranty; that's got nothing to do with MS or Sony, it's just consumer law. Taking out an extended warranty is a basic precaution I take out for every piece of consumer electronics I buy, it's very difficult to say that MS and Sony should engineer their products to overcome a limitation that always shows up on cutting-edge hardware. I game with my PC, and replace bits of it several times a year; the only bit I really want long life on is hard drives.

I judge one company or another based on the quality of its hardware, the games support, and how it conducts itself as a corporate body; in this capacity both MS and Sony are liars and cheats of almost equal standing. I say almost, because Sony seems to have gotten obsessed with itself at some point in the past and displayed a level of arrogance towards the gamer community I would never have expected from a company that basically relies on that market.

I'm glad you like your console, but please dont be the kind of fanboy that says "xxx is a great company, yyy is a bad evil company"; Sony AND MS are behaving like exactly what they are; profit-oriented morally dubious corporations. Enjoy the games, you dont have to defend a multi-billion dollar corporate empire too.

Sources, pl0x?
Google it. Shouldn't be too hard, it's been all over the place. The exclusivity deal was for 6 months: the same amount of time it took GTA 3 trilogy games to the original xbox.
This is where I learned of it:http://www.gamingfront.net/news/571/lost-damned-release-ps3-date-revealed/
