Fallout 3 harder when evil?

I've played through Fallout 3 twice already (first time messed up and it ended early, second I did everything), so I decided to play through it again and be evil instead of having good karma... well... I've run into raiders with sniper rifles and flamers shortly after leaving the Vault, and even an Enclave soldier outside Dukov's... Is it just harder being evil or am I just getting really unlucky? I'm only at level 5 and haven't even gone to the radio building yet... wandered off after Megaton...

If I recall, there was a thread like this a couple of months ago. The OP had the same exact problem. Coincidence? I think not!

i dont think enclave soldiers r meant 2 appear that early in the game, and ive played as good and evil and didnt find much difference except Fawkes wouldnt help me out later on in the game

I think you're really unlucky. I am 3/4 through an evil play through. I am performing all evil quests I can find, and then trying to kill every living thing in the wasteland after. I nuked Megaton for instance, but only once it was already a ghost town. I've yet to really have trouble with any point of the game or notice the enemies being overly powerful, I've not even bothered seeking out the alien blaster. Though this IS only playing on hard, are you perhaps playing Very Hard? I didn't have the chance to pickup a sniper rifle till I picked up the Reservists Rifle, in my wanderings.

It's easier playing an evil character because you don't have to hold back to get what you want.
Want Simm's clothes?
The old famous greeting of the Wastes can be instantly applied, shotgun to the cranium.
Want a weapon that someone else is using?
Stick a nade in their pocket.

When you're evil the wastes is an easy place to live.

Huh? Are you saying that I copied someone months ago for something? Wow... that is sad... no... I just was playing and noticed that these things, like Enclave, were appearing way too early...

@slackbheep

I think it might even been on normal... at the highest it is on hard... maybe Vance's clothes are what are unlucky...

I would say the game itself it easier if you be evil.

The rest, just bad luck I would say.

Playing evil, found:

1 raider with sniper rifle(arefu)
1 raider with flame thrower(arefu)
1 enclave soldier(dukov's place)
1 "hitman" ambush when I was somewhat good(defused bomb, found them in a random encounter)
1 "regulator" ambush when I was evil(coming out of The Family's metro)

Haven't really played much beyond fixing GNR's radio because of Mothership Zeta.(killed every living thing on board of the ship that could be killed)

I think what he may have been saying is that you may have been right that it is harder if you play FO3 evil, and that 2 different threads like this may back each other up???

No, I wasn't saying that. I was making a connection on how both of you are evil, and both of you are running into bad situations.

Easier at the beginning, as you can just take what you want.

But then you realise that the merchants you killed would have been an infinite source of weapons and money...

No, it isn't. The game is a cakewalk either way no matter the difficulty level. Of course you can start stealing all those precious shiny objects you wanted and murdering entire cities. (Which consist of about 12 people.)

You're just unlucky, my two playthroughs of the game were about the same on difficulty, my good playthrough was easy because I was a well trained badass who went on quests all the time to level up, and my bad playthrough was easy because enemies could never use guns against me because I had stolen them.

No, I'm playing as a neutral character and this happened to me. Enclave Soldiers seem to randomly spawn even though I haven't completed the waters of Life yet (well, I have now).

I found Soldiers near Super Duper Mart, Dukov's Place, outside a satellite relay, and outside of Raven Rock.

I'd say it's bad luck. I've had Enclave soldiers appear early when playing both good and evil.

Raiders with sniper rifles and flamers, you probably went into the bethesda ruins where there are specific raiders with specific weapons.

Sounds to me like you are just having some terrible luck. I have had experience with the game on both difficulties and they look to be pretty much the same. That's my view at least.
