Played this game way to much so many good moments... one of mine has to be planting a grenade on one of the venders in rivet city and watching the fun that begins lol
Hidden gem has to be the sinper rifle hidden in the rock near megaton with the note that i think is a tip of a hat to the dark brotherhood quests in oblivion .

I remember I was walking along, and I come upon this wastelander just walking along. He just starts screaming at nothing for no reason all of a sudden and running in little circles. Then he started attacking me, I think barehanded, and I was so surprised by it and he was so weak i didn't even fight him, I just backed off as best I could. He fell over dead a few seconds after that.

He had some kind of note or holotape on him relaying a really vague, rambling bunch of nonsense. I think it may have pertained to Oasis, which I never went to. But I read about the questline in Oasis, and I don't see how it bears on that poor bastard in any way.

You never went through Oasis? That was probably one of the only quests with characters that I could care about. It's also very interesting and kinda helpful if you.....
...kill Harold directly by shooting his heart.

OT: I remember once seeing a glitch involving a flying Deathclaw. I would always be afraid that it would land one day...

Lockpicking Dr Li's door only to find Flak sleeping in her bed.
Next playthrough: Lockpicking Dr Li's door only this time Shrapnel stand directly behind it, so as soon as the door swings open I hear the words "If you want a gun you've com to the right place". I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

the first time i ever ran into sam warrick was pretty random. I was by the bethesda towers fighting raiders. i had wandered in there as a level 9 or something. Anyway after he shot at me i began to run and i somehow got away from him and all the raiders.

later at the jury street metro ( i believe) i saw him again. he apparently fought off most of the raiders and was still following me. he was injured this time so i grabbed my missle launcher and blew up him, a car, and a few raiders.

Special mention for the murderous gnome, who is taking photos of the teddy bears he has tied to the train tracks.
Where? Where I ask?

I must know.
He's in the Presidential Metro in the Broken Steel add-on, at the very end of the tracks after the door with the computer hub who talks to you.

Same metro that has Strapping Young Lad lyrics on a terminal! Bethesda do awesome easter eggs.

Oasis is probably the only major quest I didn't do in the original wasteland. I made a museum of my house out of all the unique quest lootl it was very impressive, just packed to the gills with one of a kind stuff, arranged all over on the shelves and tables. Didn't need to buy a theme.

I think I was about to do Oasis, but then I hit cap and took the explorer perk. After that, Oasis just got lost amid the huge shuffle of other locales to visit.

Hahahaha, this thread got me thinking about my house and the general scewed-upness of what I ended up doing with it. Ended up sticking a huge wall of text in a new thread about it.

I remember wandering into a bunker of some kind that had a lot of medical equipment, nothing too special. There was also a skeleton in the room. After not finding any interesting loot I started to head out when I noticed a couple of plungers stuck to the wall. They created a path leading up onto the ceiling and stopping right over the skeleton. Someone climbed up and fell to his death.

Gotta love the little stories scattered around.

My biggest "OMGWTFBBQ" moment in fallout 3 had to be at the start of my second play though...

Doing the wasteland survival guide while on my way to the mart I encounter not one... not two... but 3 deathclaws...
After almost shitting my pants and while running like the dickens... some brotherhood show up but there all wigged out twisting and wiggling and flipping out in the air... kill 2 deathclaws... get killed by the third...
And while that's happening I hear the VOOOOOOOSH KABOOM!!! of the firelance event and the gun lands about 20 feet from where I stand.
I then turn around to see where the deathclaw is and its gone, along with everything except for just the floor, all the cars, most of the rubble, the trees... all the props have vanished... and then I blue screen...

Definitely in my top 5 weirdest things to ever happen in any game ever...

Well not far from Vault 101 theres this small town or whatever, inside the shop theres ALOT of boxes and stuff lined up and arrows pointing to a preassure plate. I stepped on it and a ram with a cow skull at the head knocked one of the boxes and it turned out to be a domino. The last box fell on anoter plate and activated a ball pitcher machine which did something and ,if I remember correctly, blew the place up.
That would be the grocer at Jury Street Metro, and what the explosion actually does is knock some skill books and a mininuke down from a hole in the ceiling.

If they don't fall I've found you can knock them out by lobbing grenades up throgh the hole too.

That was one hell of a clever physics domino.

I have really played too much Fallou 3.

Finding Lincoln's Hat. I immediately wore on a Black Suit, changed my character's beard, put on sunglasses, and went out to kick some ass.

Actually, thinking on it now, one of the most chilling things I saw in the entire game was also one of the most subtle.

When you finally get into the armory with the MIRV, sitting on one of the shelves was a revolver and five bullets.

If you paid attention to the story of that armory, you'd get why it's so chilling. If you just got the method online and busted in for the MIRV, you probably wouldn't care anyway.

The Dunwich building. Really creepy, and full of H P Lovecraft references. Reminds me of Hackdirt in Oblivion. Bethesda must love Lovecraft.
Well they did make the Call of Cthulhu game.

For me it had to be when I was running down a highway that was filled with the wreckages of cars, I thought "Hmm.. Odd.." then a raider saw me, fired and missle and it was a freaking chain reaction of explosions as the cars I thought were wreckades all blew up one after the other towards me. Never have I thought 'Oh fu..' in a game before getting killed.

Also was rather funny when I found the Ghouls in the Mist at the toxic waste dump site.

I remember I had set out for Oasis and kept getting bogged down in firefights. just as I ran out of ammo, a group of Talon company Mercs attacked me. I started to run towards Oasis, and as soon as I got to the system of canyons around it, I was hopelessly lost. at this point I had no ammo and about quarter health. I jumped down a small drop expecting to die........

I landed at the feet of a scavenger who had a Mr Gutsy, who preceded to butcher the mercs in moments.

It was totally random and amazing, and is why I love fallout 3

One of the weirdest things I ever encountered was this weird former shop I encountered in Point Lookout. It was stuffed with baby buggies. When I tried to walk past them, I suddenly heard the recorded giggling of a baby. Remembering that sound from a previous event (I dunno where), I immediately made a run for it and escaped the explosion without a scratch. When making another attempt to get to the far side of the room, I heard another recorded baby giggle... And made another run for it, and escaped the explosion once again.

In the end, there must have been five or six booby-traps. The problem is you can't see where they're hidden, since the booby-trap is placed in a baby buggy, but the room is filled with baby-buggies, of which the majority are still empty. I guess it was some kind of baby buggy booby-trap factory or something...

Another House in Minefield
Kids room bed has child size skeleton with bloody mattress
Parents room has bed with 2 adult skeletons and a bunch of pill bottles on the night stand

Also using the Mesmotron the make people wig out and get killed by everyone else.
Especially fun in the citadel.

Something interesting happened to me as I was playing through the Dunwich building.
I came down into the very basement of the building trying to complete a mission linked to Point Lookout, and I was on my last bits of health after fighting so many reavers. As I turned a corner and my goal came into sight, three reavers took notice of me and attacked. Just as I was about to die, their attacks pushed me through the wall and after 4 seconds of falling through the earth, I found myself three floors up from the basement.
Apparently the game took pity on me for that one and only moment and saved me by teleporting me to safety.
