Fallout 3 items you can't do without...

What do you always take with you when going out into the wasteland? What are the weapons/armour/clothing that you absolutely have to have on your character at all times?

My own list of stuff that I always like to have is as follows:

Red's bandana (looks cool and plus 1 perception)
Rangers battle Armour- Best Armour in the game IMO... light, tough and gives you extra AP
Xuanlong Assault Rifle - Best all round weapon
Terrible Shotgun - Nothing is a threat when you have this with you...
Ol' Painless- Cos I like the bang it makes
Lucky Shades- PLus 1 luck... absolutely no reason not to have these on always!
Timebomb's Lucky 8 ball... same as above

Laser weapons. I know they're inefficient, but they can vaporize people. Srsly. And you get plenty of ammo off the Enclave soldiers later than the game so if you have a high Repair skill you can just keep mashing new and improved L@$3R weapons together and just go nuts.

I'm a big fan of the AntAgonizer's costume. The suit I can sometimes do without, but I find the helmet (with antennae) pretty hilarious, especially when VATS does close-ups of your character's face.

Sure it's not stat-boosting, but whatever. The Terrible Shotgun is also pretty great, if only because the spread is so sporadic and all kinds of weird stuff happens (aim for the head, blast off an arm instead??).

A3 21's Plasma rifle is pretty hefty power wise but I found the others to be a bit meh... especially the Wazer Wifle. Maybe its just because I prefer bloody chunks to burning vapour

Silenced 10mm - see above
Dart Gun - for those pesky deathclaws and yao guai
Victory rifle - because knocking them down then finishing them with a Chinese pistol is just too fun to pass up.

My hunting rifle, for most of my killing needs.

Mine has to be the Chinese Stealth armour from operation anchorage and lincoln's repeater, also the alien ray gun. I also like to take along my power armour incase of any large threat.

Chinese stealth armor, Lincolns repeater and some bobby pins are really all i need. Oh and that Alien Blaster for when the deathclaws show up.

the terrible shotgun and that special magnum that you got off the old lady, blackhawk i think. maybe the reilly rangers armour. oh and medipaks, needed them a lot.

thinks i Wanted: nuka cola quantum, forks (i was obsessed) and anything else shiny.

I can't live without the Terrible Shotgun and the Chinese Assault Rifle. All other weapons are not so important for me and/or fun to use.

Ol' Painless, Enclave Helmet, Reilly's Ranger armor, Blackhawk for when I'm fighting Deathclaws, and Fisto for killing ghouls and raiders. And the 8-ball, obviously.

In my second (current) playthrough I'm going for a close combat character, so I'm probably going to hunt down that deathclaw gauntlet schematic, and probably never take off my hockey mask. I'm also thinking of getting addicted to Psycho.
