(Am I the only one who was never really able to play an evil character? I mean I could do things like blow up megaton and kill wandering merchants but when it came to being a total dick to people in conversation, expecially the early vault stage, I just couldn't be mean, expecially to James or Amata.)
I had the exact same difficulty, that part where he gives you the rifle as a gift, you can be a complete spoiled brat, but I couldn't do it, even when I pressed the option, I reloaded cause his disappointment was too much.

I have another, quite valid question...

Why the fuck do you WANT to kill children? I mean this is kindof twisted even to me.
Why else? Because they are assholes... and assholeswith power too!

(sick thoughts ahead)

Perhaps somebody should make a game where you can kill all sorts of people like people in wheelchairs and kids and pregnant women and elderly people and of course people who just annoy you.

Now i dont wanna do any of that but can you imagine how much money you could make selling that game to teenagers?

You may not be able to kill them, but the "child snatcher" NPC, combined with whatshisface running Paradise Falls, left me with the distinct impression that poor little bumbles was going straight into the warm, loving arms of a paedophile and a lifetime of rape... at least, until she hits puberty and then she'll probably get sold to someone else who'll use her as a fucktoy.

There's just something about the way those characters sound, and what they actually say, that creates vibes far more disturbing than any bullet through a pre-pubescent skull.
*WIN*
I literally giggled after convincing her to come outside."I am going on an adventure hah!"
hehehehe, most satisfying moment of the game ^.^

I suppose it should be in there, but the thought of killing them never crossed my mind.
I play the game based on my choices not the inherently "good" or "bad", but it seems to lean towards the good side.
To me killing little children is just sick, but it's only a game and you don't have to if you don't want to. So.....to each his own.

I dunno, I played the game alot, heck i actually managed to keep the True Neutral Perk without he PC cheats, its hard! Really!

But i have to agree, it was a commercial move to make sure the game would sell without a hitch. But there are mods for the PC version, so it works out sorta...

Still I have to admit it does kill the immersion when i found that kids were invincible with some characters.. see I wouldn't have had a problem if they made the mayor of little lamplight immortal for all i care, but why fo all kids get that perk?

Then again, the US and Europe have a hard time swallowing anything they dislike so.

Then again, it could be because of mis-interpreted as well as popularly presented info on "Why Violent video games can make your kids serial killers"

I mean do they even deliever a counter argument? i haven't seen one yet, damn you politics! XD

Frankly, I find it disgusting that you cannot Rail-Gun any kids in Fallout.

I miss the days of Fallout and Fallout 2 where you could use your powerfist to one shot a kid in the groin. Oh those were the days.

Yes, some might call me a psychopath for saying this, but some of the kids in little Lamplight are absolute jackasses, and I would love to explode one or 2 of them with my trusty fat man launcher.

Well, that is why we have our Experimental MIRV, isn't it?

You know how NO games are ever rated A (adult)? Well, the pretty much only sane way to achieve that level of inappropriateness in games, is to give your game the ability to murder children. If you could nuke out little lamplight, and teabag all of their small fragile bodies, the game would be condemned with an A maturity rating, and would've been declined in many countries. (looking at you Australia)

I agree with you, I was disappointed too. I didn't want to just run around killing kids, oh no, but I would have welcomed the freedom to do so. Just knowing I could, if I wanted to, would have been enough.
If it really bothers you not being able to kill children, then you can get this mod off of Fo3Nexus that alivates the problem. You will have to be registered because it is classified as "Adult Only" content.

But that is all it enables you to do, nothing else, just turns off their immortality.
If you have the ps3 or 360 version of Fo3, then you are out of luck, sorry.

I think there is some clause in the ESRB that is killing kids will give your game an AO rating but I'm not sure..
Oh okay, i guess if it would've caused a big uproar or stopped alot of people from getting to play the game, it might not have been worth it then. But i imagined that the game was intended for a fairly mature age anyway with the ability to blast off limbs in a fairly messy way, but i don't know anything about the rating system.
I'm pretty sure that's it. Either that or the public would just go on a frenzy and call it a murder simulator because you can kill children. I'll have to dig around and check (but later when I'm not about to go to sleep)
Cool, thx for clearing that up. I guess being such a widely played gam it might've caused quite an uproar.
