Any perk that increases my hit rate in VATS and Grim Reaper's Sprint are usually my first choices.

Bloody Mess is fun the first few times but if I can keep it semi-realistic I'd like to. I just can't imagine the ballistic force of a .32 caliber bullet causing all the limbs to splay out like paintballs...

Mysterious Stranger is also occasionally cool, after all having this noir guy come out of nowhere and shoot your enemies in the face with a magnum can be satisfying, but Murphy's/Sod's law ensures that he'll only appear when I don't need him.
Dammit! Mine only appears to occasionally shoot some mole rats. When I'm fighting the big baddies like the Deathclaws oh no, I won't pull out my entrenched coat ass on the field no no no.

Bastard.
Murphy's law indeed, but I like to think he's just resting for a big save...or more so hoping...or more so crying and lying to myself...wishing he'd be my friend.

The Mysterious Stranger is about as useful as he was in the first game, which is nothing at all, nothing at all, nothing at all.

I got scrounger just a while ago. Sweet Three Dog do you get way more ammo. And it seems to really like giving you a lot of a rarer ammo too. The last few crates I've had with missiles in them have had nine in each of them.
In my opinion, Scrounger is the most useful perk in the game. Until I got it I was always running low on ammo and having to use guns I didn't really want to. Now I'm level 18, and I have at least 300 rounds for all of my guns.

Also, the most useful perk to have in combat is the commando perk. If your energy weapon skill is high enough and you have a plasma rifle plus the commando perk, you can 95% headshot enemies from anywhere. Almost makes the game too easy.
Dude, 300 really isn't a lot. Either you don't look in enough places, you suck in VATS, or your luck is at 0. I have at least 1500 ammo for each gun and 1500 is low for me, and I'm playing on very hard where the enemys turn into bullet spounges.

even though it only works for a couple of times "child at heart" has proved invaluable to me
also "cannible" is also very useful in a pinch
another great one is "animal freind" even though I only have first rank it's awesome not having to keep my dart gun out for Yao Gwai's I just wish it would work for Deathclaws

I picked explorer, it made things alot more streamlines and let me find all the bobbleheads, besides, none of the other ones seemed worth it, so that's what I would pick if I had to choose again.

i dont see how any one can have low ammo ect , you should have purchased all the items an themes for your house by time youve reached level ten and then once they are all obtained the only thing you will nrrd to buy is ammo , i regually jump to rivet city and spend 3-5 grand on ammo then just sell all the crap ive picked up.

I have a minimum of 5000 rnds with all my small guns and around 10-15000 rnds in my big guns .

really the only two choices would be Ninja for melee or unarmed and grim reaper's sprint for anything else really, world explorer is useful when you just make a copy of your save before 20 and just have him choose it so you can switch over to find any location.

personally my favorite is melee so i use ninja and its fun being able to one-shot a super mutant master or a deathclaw using stealth crits, but my own personal choice, first time through i picked grim reaper's sprint and didn't like it cause it turned you into god

Ah that seems pointless, would have been better if you could quick travel to the locations, still interested in all those locations i wont be able to find easily without the perk though, such a hard choice.
It's better to go looking for these yourself without the perk. After I got it the fun of exploring the wasteland kind of goes out the window. But I will admit it's useful if you're using the wiki and navigating around looking for unique weapons or building materials.
