the game is not about the music never has been and never will but it just sets the atmosphere very well.
I would say the music is a rather important part of the game. The crappy ambient music doesn't do the game any sort of justice at all.

The apocalypse didn't happen in the fifties despite the impression given by Bethesda's pitiful writers.

The fact that our worlds split after World War II.

I just said that the 30's, 40's, and 50's music are rather important to the game because Inon Zur and the ambient soundtrack haven't changed a bit since Fallout Tactics, and are really bland.

Interplay's 'pitiful' writers.
How exactly was interplay's writing pitiful? They never gave any inclination about it happening in the fifties. They got 1 song at the start of the game and even that was shown to be a tv ad (like a great many tv ads using old songs because there is no need to pay licencing fees).

I'm not saying that the writing was pitiful, I'm telling the guy that it was Interplay's 'pitiful' writers, not Bethesda's.

Fallouts World and ours splits after World War II that's why.
Good to know. How does that answer the question?

OT: I'm of the opinion that the only music that survived was the classics, as they'd probably be in larger circulation if they stayed in that particular societal scene.

go ask the story writers to set it in a different theme unless of course you think that black metal or even R&B fits very well in a 50s environment.
it's fine to say "it's bland" then you are also saying the 50s environment also is bland.

It's rather ironic, whenever I make an augment that the Starwars tech is getting bland, like yours. other people think otherwise.

I remember their was only one instrument....................that one stradivarius violin.
You can find a special instrument, don't know if it was a violin or a chello anymore but if you find it....
And bring it to an old lady somewhere near fault 101 (as far as I recall), you will unlock another radio station.
Yes, I think we all realise that...

Silly, of course they did.

Not only did they make new music, but they re-invented a rocket capable of launching into the stratosphere. Once they accomplished that, they shot wireless speakers up all over the country. In case you were wondering, they also had to cobble together materials to create all these speakers. I believe the schematics called for Nuka Cola Quantum, 4 irons, 6 vacuum cleaners and a microfusion cell.

Once they did this, they then worked on re-building orchestras. It took some time, as they had to work with the scraps they had in the wastes. But then, oh the magnificence of it all!

They began composing some of the most brooding music ever heard, and piped it over the airwaves. If you listen closely while you travel the wastes, you can hear its haunting melody.

He was just correcting him dude.
Ya im saying they never said it was happening in the fifties. They made it perfectly clear that it was happening much later. Just meant that due to certain events happening different the way people were easily manipulated into believing government propoganda (such as was similiar to the cold war) and the ability for people to perceive war as a Good Vs Evil conflict in the United States (which changed due to Vietnam) and presented it in the future. The cultural throwback was a demonstration of the summation of that ideology and plays a "what if" scenario of the future. The game never said it was from happening during the 50s, only that giving a look at how the world may have developed had key ideological shifts not taken place (although ironiclly the easily manipulated populous HAS reappeared, so apparantly the old writers got that right).
