Fallout 3 is very similar to The Elder Scrolls in many ways, probably due to both being made by Bethesda.

What are some improvements that fallout 3 made to the 'Bethesda formula' which you would want carried over to the next Elder Scrolls game.

For me; Perks. It would be awesome to have some Elder Scrolls style perks in number 5.

Also, non respawning containers. Just like Morrowind it would be cool to be able to set up shop anywhere.

Lastly, a morality system. It fitted in well with Fallout 3 and I'm not sure if it's right for The Elder Scrolls, but it would be good to see what they can do.

So, anything you think should be carried over from Fallout 3 to the next Elder Scrolls? Or things to be included in general?

I'm sick of morality systems, they should stay away from my elder scrolls!

Though I'd be happy with another Oblivion but mixed with Morrorwind and a whole new world to explore

I would like to explore into the northern lands above cyrodill(spelling?) in a 1st person view, skymir if memory serves. Kind of hard to put a morality system where in the end you become the hero of all existense if you follow the main story line. In oblivion that wouldnt've worked. Lastly, staff making in the weapon crafting/enchanting. Oh, and a online co-op would be fun.

Ugh, no morality system at all. Just an irritation. Setting up shop, I agree with, because I really wanted to do that in Oblivion. I would also recommend a similar levelling system. In Oblivion, the system can be severely broken by just making your main skills ones you never use, and cranking all your others to Master and beyond before level four. I like the idea of pulling over perks as well, but I think maybe some ideas from others games could be brought over. For instance, some half decent horse control, and mounted combat. Some more epic Boss style fights would make it feel more epic to me, less like I'm running around knocking off the same six guys for the whole game.

Giving us all of Tamriel would be nice, or at least Morrowind and Daggerfall.

I would like to explore Hammerfell or Summerset Isles in the next game... or the whole world, but that will probably not be possible.

I would prefer there not being a morality system, but the perk idea would be good

I'll join everyone else in saying that I really don't want a morality system. Part of the fun of Oblivion for me came from having the Grey Fox Mask, because I could steal whatever I wanted and kill enough imperial guards to fill two or three semis with dead bodies, and as soon as I took off the mask I could go back to being the hero of the kingdom who saved everyone from everything. It didn't force me into playing either the role of the hero or the villain, but instead it allowed me to play both roles at the same time for maximum fun. And really, that's what I come to the Elder Scrolls games looking for, is just an opportunity to dick around doing whatever I want in the massive world where there's lots of freedom.

What I'd like to see is an easier way to manuver shit around in my house. I don't know why this was so much fun for me, but part of what I really enjoyed in Oblivion (and Fallout 3 as well) was finding a bunch of rare random crap and decorating my houses with it, but it's kind of a pain in the ass sometimes, especially with things like book cases where I really wished there was an easier way to get the books on to the bookshelf.

Also, having a familiar or something like that would be incredibly cool. I remember in one of the morrowind expansions you could get this little bug thing that would follow you around, and in Oblivion I specialized in the summoning spells cause I enjoyed summoning a bunch of random shit to do my fighting for me while I snuck around in the background stealing everything I could get my hands on. Anyways, my point is that I think it'd be really cool to have a familiar that could follow me around, maybe it'd also have trainable levels and stuff, so it gets better the more I work with it. And I don't want just one option either, I always found dogmeat kind of annoying in Fallout 3, I wanted a radscorpion friend to follow me around... no such luck. But, in the Elder Scrolls world there are so many cool things that could follow me around and be my tomb raiding buddy, so give me a familiar here!

Yes I agree. A morality system works good in games like red dead and fallout 3 but I hope they don't add one to ESV because then I can't just steal whatever I want and stay good on my good account :)

Actually the crates, barrels etc. in Morrowind did respawn.
Really? I'm pretty sure they didn't...

I'd like to see them implement the V.A.T.S system, especially for bows. Those were terrible in Oblivion.

I dunno, I had Oblivion first and recently played Fallout 3 and couldn't get into it...like at all. I grinded the hell out of Oblivion, completing Shivering Isles (my favorite part), all the official DLC, a couple mods, and multiple characters completely maxed out, so by the time I rolled around to "more of the same" in Fallout 3, I was promptly sick of it.

I still don't think I've gotten over the whole "played Oblivion to death" thing, so if TES V came out tomorrow, I wouldn't buy it or even torrent it. They need to do away with point-based morality systems, but instead introduce a system by which your actions affect outcomes without being Good/Evil Paragon/Renegade Light/Dark points. For instance, if you steal too much from one shopkeeper and he catches you, he might call the guard and/or bar you from shopping at his store.

It would be more awesome for there to be no Elder Scrolls V. There's no need or way to continue the roman numeral'd series anymore. More spin-offs like 'Redgaurd' would be great!

Chestsand drawers were mostly OK, but Crates were bad. At least I think so...

I set up shop round Fargoth's place, he didn't seem to mind :p

I was rather hoping he'd pick up Sunder or Keening, though...
I always used to set up a home in Caldera and everything seemed fine. I guess some would respawn though. Yeah it would be cool if the NPC's could pick up weapons in Morrowind. Fargoth with sunder or keening would be a scary thought though... :L

"I have a feeling that you and I, are about to become very close."

That's a Fargoth quote before you wonder what the hell I'm talking about xD

As long as the leveling system wasn't totally broken like it was in TESIV. I think Fallout 3 did it much better.

Also, morality systems in general are a trainwreck if it's just a 'sliding bar', especially when it's displaed easily. Seeing +Evil or +Good really cheapens the whole idea of a moral choice.
