So it looks like they're not going to be making any more pip-boys than they already have.

Well this sucks.

I don't understand the decision not to make more, given how quickly they sell out you'd think they recover the costs of manufacturing and then some.

It's a shame that the only way to get it is to preorder. I'd like to get the pip-boy edition, but yeah not enough to preorder the game.

I have to agree. The only reason I didn't jump on the pre-order right away is because, ever since Halo 3, there really hasn't been any limited editions of a game which have sold out. I mean it's gotten to the point that not only is a limited edition of a game virtually guaranteed to not sell out, we're seeing is become common for last years limited editions to be marked down to the original release price of the regular game to make room for upcoming ones.

Bummer. I'd have liked to get it, but I tend to not drop money on a pre-order until we get really close to release date. Hopefully they'll release some light version of the collector's edition, that just comes with some extra goodies.

Yeah, I'm amazed they didn't decide something like 'anyone who pre-orders the limited edition before X date will get one' or something. Limited or not, it's been what, a full decade since a limited edition of a game ran out of stock before release?

So not a Collectors Edition just a Special Edition? or S.P.E.C.I.A.L Edition.

Thankfully I got my copy booked a few days ago but this is still poor news for some people, there are a few out there that I know will be saddened by this.

Oh don't worry these things go to ebay as soon as people get them, most probably ordered them just to get that scarcity going to then sell at a very high price.

Also people have been doing functional pip boys for some time, not just toy ones, so you can always score one of those.

I kind of like the fact that a limited special edition turned out to be actually limited. It makes me feel like it is an actual limited edition for hardcore fans and not just a cash grab move to get people to shell out more money earlier for something that everyone can get at release anyway.

Given the overall short time frame for the release date later this year it could also be an issue of making X-Pipboys is possible with current contracts before day-Y and they hit that Cap so either Pre-orders would have to wait for the full edition with would be a marketing nightmare buy the best version can't use it till later or risk quality control getting a second manufacturer or the current manufacturer can't expand production do to over contracts or something.

Plus Pre-orders can be cancelled so you don't wanna have to many unsold is a possible concern for them.

I lucked out when they brought the pip-boy editions back and I was able to snag one for the PC. I wanted to buy two to sell the other on on e-bay but it's only one per customer it seems.

I'd figured they'd all be gone although perhaps not this quickly. I'm not surprised they're not making anymore either. It looked like it would be expensive to make in large amounts and the inference by the Game director to stupid gimmicks left me thinking they put this one out as an attention grabber more than anything else. We still get the app though. That looked cool.

I got mine on the first lot of them, bummer though, I was gonna get another one for my little brother.

It's a shame, they really should have made more, they must have known this was gonna be super popular, and they could probably make more money by making more.

Good. Removes my only incentive to pre-order. I'll buy it in a Steam sale like a normal person.
Indeed. Ever read "Jennifer Government?"
That book made absolutely no sense from a logistical, political and economic stand point.
