What does that have to do with the new Fallout title?

Well...SimuLord said:JEBWrench said:I hope that just for nostalgia's sake...
Harold's not dead...Whether he's canonically dead or alive, he's kind of, umm...put down some roots in the Capital Wasteland. Not gonna see him out West!
Oh, I know that. But it seems odd to think of a Fallout game without the old bugger.SimuLord said:*snipped out the spoilers*
Just because he has a different opinion than you on what is a good game doesn't mean you should insult him. Yes, it seems like he is trying to incite flame-wars but there is no need for you to risk a suspension or ban just because you don't like what he is saying.run_forrest_run said:If you have no interest in what is quite clearly a fantastic game then fuck off you pathetic little turd.Peta Michalek said:Volafortis said:You obviously have no interest or knowledge in the history of the seriesClever.I never actually finished 1, and can barely remember 2.
Of course locations will be different. It's a new area. You saw any giant alien motherships in vanilla Fallout 3?tellmeimaninja said:nd if you pay the slightest bit of attention to the story, the factions in the west are different from the ones in the east, so while it may look similar, the enemies, allies, and locations will be different.
I have no idea how New Vegas Raiders, Deathclaws and Orcs - sorry, Super Mutants - will be different from Fallout 3 Raiders, Deathclaws and Orcs. Maybe they'll be slightly taller?
Sorry to hear that.Plus Fallout 3 is still my most frequently played single-player game
I know. Only Nintendo is allowed to blatantly reuse old character models in sequels.Rauten said:Wow, nice flame war guys. Kewl.
Anyway, on the topic...
I want this game to be good.
I really do.
But I find it hard to be optimistic when...

Here's Walter for comparison reasons:

So yeah kinda hard to stay optimistic, when one of the very first screens they showed turns out to be a blatant recycling of one of Megaton's denizens.
I did not know this. Interesting, do you think it could happen again then? Or probably not?SirCannonFodder said:Actually, I think it'd be fair to say that FO3 already managed to do that, considering the Fallout Trilogy pack (FO1, 2, and Tactics) got onto the best-seller list for a month or two about a year back.GLo Jones said:Well, if the game does well, I'd like to think it'd revive interest in the first two.
Fallout 2 on the Gamebryo engine would be so far beyond awesome as to boggle the mind. I could never get into old-style dice-roll-based 2D PC RPGs, but once games like Morrowind started to revolutionize the form...the D0rk One said:meh, if they'd let you become a porn star, or get married (to escape lynching by the farmer's family and then have the option to sell the wife to slavers) or shoot people in the balls...
doesn't anybody miss the "old" humor?
Yeah dude, I completely agree about the ancient technology of gamebryo or infinity, but don't you think they used to create much better games with it?SimuLord said:Fallout 2 on the Gamebryo engine would be so far beyond awesome as to boggle the mind. I don't wan't to de-rail the topic at hand (woo new fallout game) but did I play a different version of KotOR2 then everyone eles? I'm always hearing praise for the plot and Kreia in particular (assuming thats who you ment by villain, not one of the other sith lords), when I found the plot mediocore and underwhelming, and Kreia to be one of the most unlikeable, annoying bi**hes with a huge and unwarrented senes of self-importance that I ever had the misfortune of having to interact with. seriously, all she ever did was complain about anything and everything you did. I have to say, when you get to kill her at the end I didn't hesitate for a second.Amnestic said:And a completely different developer. After seeing how Obsidian took the reins of KotOR2 and brought out one of the most memorable villains in gaming I've ever seen, I'm fairly certain they can do something great with New Vegas.Peta Michalek said:Setting, engine and system. Indeed, it shows.Kilaknux said:And here was me thinking we were discussing a new game, New Vegas, set somewhere else with no connection to Fallout 3 beyond the same setting. Shows how much I know.
