Fallout New Vegas - Did you kill Benny?

OK, I didn't read the OP, and here's why: I haven't played New Vegas, but I plan to. Please don't put spoilers in the title of your damn topic.

What spoilers? The whole game is based about killing a guy that tried to kill you, that's the way it starts.

I battled him in the Legion's arena. Decapitated him with a machete. Then I mutilated his corpse for trying to kill me twice.

My Speech sucked so he got away at the hotel. He ran away, got captured by Caesar's Legion. I got the Mark of Caesar, "did" the quest for him (actually activated the armies, but he thought I did what he wanted), my reward was that I got to choose Benny's death.

I pulled out a .44 Magnum Revolver and slowly walked over to him. I placed the barrel to his forehead, moved out to 3rd person, rotated the camera to the side for a better view and pulled the trigger.

Normally I'm the good guy, but I don't take kindly to people who try/have tried to kill me

I got him all alone in the presendential suite in the tops and put a frag mine(or two) in his trousers(or three, or seven), and he blew up. So much so that in fact I was surprised why his bodyguards didn't kill me after noticing that he was naked(I robbed his stuff) and that all of his limbs were missing.

Was Pretty fun though.
And BTW killing Benny is the ONLY way to continue the story, otherwise he runs away and then you have to find him.

Doing the Wild-Card quest to help "That person" take over Vegas is mandatory?

You mean the Yes Man? No! You can choose a variety of endings, ie: you can side w/ the legion, the NCR or Mr. House, what I'm trying to say is that YOU choose the ending.

Define killed...I freed him then tried to pick pocket him, and Boon killed him. I could of re-loaded but all i could think of was "Damn!! I like that suit!!"

I got him to ditch his guards and come with me to the suite.

Then I let him explain his entire plan before (very slowly) killing him with the silenced pistol I smuggled into the hotel.

Next time, I'll just punch him. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

I rescued him from the Legion.
Took a hellava lotta saves.

Does it impact the game afterwards? I was going to try that, but after I tried the first time and you know what happened I didnt feel like taking on that task.

Not really. It gives a cool message at the end of the game about him, but you don't see him again.
It gave the Jesus Karma sign, so that's why I did it. Plus I wanted Caeser's fist thingy.

The Black widow perk way of killing benny is one of the funniest, so on my next play through, I manually added black widow perk to my male character, which makes all of the conversation with him absolutely hilarious. "Give those charlies a shake for the ben-man" "Dude, im a guy". Also terrifying presence, one the best perks for funny conversation options, also, make a play through with a character with low intelligence, the conversation options are brilliant.

First playthrough I duelled him in the Legion's camp (tried to rescue him at first, but it was too much bother). Second playthrough I never even met him.

With my first character I let him go, then Boone and I killed every. Single. Legionnaire.

Then my second character, of whom is currently working with the Legion, crucified him. Yay negative karma!

I tried many things, but the most satisfying was to get him to the room alone with me thanks to good speech, have him walk to the elevator, go to the casino before him, wait a bit, bot gets confused, I'm back, his guards are there, but he's kinda lost and just stands in one place.
And then I throw dynamite in there. Boom.

I stupidly was seduced my his slick talking. But, I eventually got to confront him again at Caesars Camp, were I fought him to the death in the arena.

I fought him in an honorable duel in the legion's arena.

Of course, that ended with him getting his head chopped off and me walking away with his suit, but whatever!

I let the Legion nab him and then had him crucified.

Very, very satisfying.
