I ran into one bug so far (Payed for 4 hours) and it was a simple radscorpion stuck in the ground. I don't see what all the fuss is about.
They said the same thing about Fallout 3 "its too buggy, there are game-breaking buggs" and guess what? i had no problems with Fallout 3, only encountering minor buggs (like you said, enemy stuck in the ground).
made the radscorpion easier to kill for me
Exactly, these are not buggs that irritate you or makes the game harder to play.

Same here, I had one or two minor issues at the most. Certainly nothing worse than other major titles have had.

I like New Vegas allot. But i find it quite funny and ironic that Bethesda is making a Patch for Obsidian's game.
Most people will agree that Bethesda puts a massive amount of effort into it's games. But it's funny to me that they're doing it for someone else. I guess it reflects on them in the end and this will just help profit them. But it makes me laugh anyway.
How do you feel about this patch? I personally welcome it. Anything to get rid of Obsidians' endless bugs.
Actually, it makes perfect sense when you consider that Obsidian was just the company that won the outsourcing of the Fallout IP for a stand-alone game using the Fallout3 engine. Obsidian wins because they don't have to employ an entire QA/Troubleshooting division (Like ZeniMax/Bethesda does) and Bethesda wins because as the producers they get a large share of the profits and only have to provide as much support as they feel. It also makes sense since Bethesda is the company that built the Fallout 3-version of the Gamebryo engine and has already done patching and DLC-additions to it. Their troubleshooting and bug-fixing staff has plenty of experience doing it, whereas Obsidian's would have none.

Lets just hope they don't screw up the modding community. Consistency is key here :p

Pretty soon there will be mods to fix all the stupid bugs they managed to spread throughout the game.

Which brings me to my question: Is it worth buying?

I like to think the patch shows Bethesda's dedication to the franchise, always looking out for it, like a loving step-dad when his kid is reunited with its biological father, who last saw the kid 5 years ago and has to become reacquainted with parent-hood.

I'm sorry, I have no idea where that analogy came from.

I agree! the bugs aren't that annoying. the most noticeable one I've seen was a can rolling back and forth. kinda creeped me out!

Im so insecure as to wether i shall buy this on pc or ps3... What you guys think? Any experiences on the matter?
Well, the XBOX will be getting...sigh... exclusive dlc stuff. So it's down to the question do you use mods? If you do and are using Windows XP I'd say go for the pc version (Windows 7 and Vista apparently have some pretty epic frame rate issues that seem strangely connected to players using Nvidia products) otherwise go for the PS3 one.
I have vista... Do not care for DLC, nor do i care for mods.. Just want to play it the original normal way!

And now Bethesda has to change its diapers?

You're insane! :p

Anyway, the only major problem I've had is one crash, behind a loading screen.

Apart from that, It's just some buggy A.I pathing, and their one-track mind, where they forget what they're doing in the middle of the fight and stand there aimlessly while you kill them.

Any date for this "patch"?

I'll get the game in a few days time, and I won't start before a patch is out - I am aiming for the perfect experience.

No... the last thing Bethesda put effort into was Bloodmoon. Everything after that has just been lazy and shoddy.

Well the first patch has been released via Steam not sure about the consoles, but it fixes only some quest and scripting issues.

Just saying.

That means it could still be days away from console release. :(

It's alright, It's not entirely.. buggy, on the consoles anyway.

Why didn't they just, I don't know, polish a game for once and avoid having to release 800 patches?

I'm not playing another Bethesda game until they ditch Gamebryo.

Aside from the shitty shitty facial models and animations/animation system it seems more a case of them ignoring as many bugs as they can in order to get the game out early. I'd rather wait and have a game that doesnt need mod support in order to not suck.

But that's just me :/

Drop the file d3d9.dll in the Fallout: New Vegas game folder and this is fixed. The problem really only affected 64 bit versions of Vista and Windows 7 using Nvidia cards. Maybe you should do some research before making suggestions?
I'm just here to spread lies and deception my good sir, indeed my knowledge is only limited to information I read on the Bethesda forum yesterday and I am sorry for I have with no doubt caused great damage with my despicably misinformed statements upon this fair forum. I'm sorry, so very, very sorry.

This is off topic but I just wanted to say that I found a skeleton in a fridge in the Mojave Wasteland. On the skeleton's head was an Indiana Jones hat. I have already made a pledge to wear this hat through the whole game.

I still don't know what's so bad about Alpha Protocol. I played through it recently, and thought it was rather good, and absolutely not as glitchy as people made it out to be IMO. (Although I encountered the level transitioning bug once, had to restart the mission.)

EDIT: Btw, it INFURIATES me (Nerdrage - "You've been pushed around long enough!") that the game isn't out in Europe yet - bugs or not.

EDIT2: New Vegas I mean, not AP xD
Tomorrow my friend, tomorrow.

I can't wait, buggy or not, i'm going to play the hell out of that game.

You must tell me where that is right now, because i'm going to do exactly the same thing. Indiana Jones = the greatest thing of all time.
