God please let there be another Vault full of Gary's! It reminded me so much of "Only Fools And Horses" :D

"Gary!!!"

I agree, I was kinda disappointed about that when I played Fallout 3. Although the first time discovering the vaults was awesome. I remember discovering the vault full of the crazies and trying to fit in by wearing one of their jumpsuits, should have worked.[/quote]
Actually, now the armor you wear will somewhat affect how people interact with you. if you're dressed as a Powder Gang member, you will probably be shot

Actually, what bothered me about Fallout 3 wasn't that the ending wasn't opened but that the ending made no sense if you had certain companions at the end. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/JustBugsMe/Fallout The only fallout game to have an open ending originally was Fallout 2... It really isn't it that important to me, but I just want the ending to make sense...
What pisses me off more is that if you have Broken Steel, you can in fact send Fawkes in. However, the game still just ends, and in the epilogue you get called a coward. Yes, you get called a coward for not sacrificing yourself for absolutely no fucking reason.
I never played Broken Steel...

Hmm. Hardcore mode sounds excellent, and really adds to the replayability of the game. New Vegas should be loads of fun. =D

My biggest question still goes unanswered: Will there be less bugs?
Has Fallout ever not had bugs? Then consider that this is running on a Bethesda-made engine. It isn't so-much a matter of whether or not it will have bugs, it's more a question of whether or not you're okay with having a hive running in your hard-drive. ;)

Anyway, Hardcore mode sounds awesome. As far as I'm going to be concerned there is no way to turn it off. Then again, I'm one of those people talking about Fallout 3 being way to freaking easy on Hard Mode in topic full of people complaining about the challenge being too high even on Normal. I'm also the sort of person who liked keeping Purified Water on-hand for healing simply because it felt more in-flavor with the context of the game. So be it the challenge or just keeping things in character with the setting, Hardcore was made specifically for me.

Uhhhhhnyway this sounds pretty cool. I was already planning on playing through hardcore for my first time through and this just makes me want to play it more. Although I'll probably miss fast travel at certain points, it always did feel a little to easy at times to get out of a dangerous place.

As for the game ending after the main storyline, well I guess that means I'll just wait before I complete the final mission. It took me long enough to do so for Fallout 3 so that shouldn't be a problem anyway.

Looks good so far. I can't wait for when it comes out.

Such a shame that you can't continue the game after the ending; it was fun blasting mutants heads off with the gatling laser in F3. :\
Wait for DLC or Mods. Someone is bound to fix that.

Short answer: YES

Long answer: If Obsidian didn't change a single thing about FO3 gameplay and just concentrated on creating a new setting and polishing the engine free of bugs, I'm sure it'd be a great deal smoother on the playthrough, but it wouldn't add anything new to the game either. Since they've added that companion mgmt. menu and Renown/Karma and weapon mods and all those other countless little doodads to the game, there's only going to be more chances for an ugly, game-breaking (or awesome, infinitely-spawning free stuff) bug to rear its head.

Meh. I'm still borrowing it from a friend before I risk wasting another 49,99 euros on it.

Didn't play it much myself, though from what I hear we're not missing out on much.

I'll detail my favorite little jewel here:

Fighting a Deathclaw in the Wasteland, when suddenly it jumps into the air and shoots off in to the Heavens, completely out of sight. Apparently, Fawkes could still see him since he took the occasional potshot at the clouds as I attempted to leave the area before I weirded out and my brain critical metldown'd.

God I can't wait for this game. Too bad that even though I have it pre-ordered I won't be able to play it until I save up the money to fix my PS3. I'll probably play it anyway, I just won't be able to see much.

"Fallout: New Vegas has a real ending, that shows the results of your actions throughout the game and how they affected the different factions, locations and people you encountered," he said.
Basically how STALKER Call of Pripyat ended, awesome.
No, not awesome. Ending in an open world RPG is stupid.
No, an ending is fine, but one should have the ability to continue playing it. Just look at Oblivion. While the main plot was...let's be nice and just leave it at sub-par, you had a real ending, and the world was then yours to explore. Or GTA:SA; a final mission, the main plot is resolved, off to murdering old ladies.
That's what I meant by an ending. The game can't be played after beating the main story unless you restart. That's fucktarded.
Or just save in a different folder before you start the final mission
