Punishing difficulty and better gore.

The punishing difficulty one has already been confirmed, so yay to that.

But as for the gore, it should be more like Fallout 1 and 2, which was pre-animated and brutal. Tearing someone apart with a minigun was great fun.

However, Fallout 3's gore was just stupid. Seriously? Shoot a guy with a 10MM pistol and all his limbs fly 20 feet?

It completely ruined the impact of the whole gore idea.

Make it more realistic, and thus more disgusting, and you've got a winner.
Yeah, but in the originals it was the same three death animations over
and over
and over
and over.

How about a broader color pallete. I get the tone its trying to set, but why not offset it with some vibrant colors once in a while. Was there no bright paint for homes in the future?
it was nuked the shit out of there are no more shiny stuff and its over 200 years since it was ever washed/painted if any bright paintings keep the color and not get dirty i would pray to it like a god or something

Fallout 3 annoyed me and was one of the least immersive games I've played lately.
I'd like it to step a little closer to the STALKER scene of things, and get a little more gritty with a little less gimmick.

Fallout will inevitably have gimmick, but they took it a little too far in FO3.

Also, I want it to charge less for pointless DLC, and work well with 3d ^_^

id lke to be able to play as a ghoul, feral ghoul, supermutant, mindless super mutant.... just something other than just human it'd be fun to be a super mutant tear people apart with sledgehmmers and 20 other super mutants. Alos co-op would be great.

Obsidian seems to like taking over where another company left off (Bioware and KOTOR). They probably won't change much, if their history is any indication. I guess the debate is whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Fallout 1+2 (while having low quality pixel graphics) filled the world it had with more life and "personality" in a single area than Fallout 3 has combined xD
no, no, no, I don't know what game you were playing, but fallout 3 had tons of atmosphere and personality! granted, it was in a post-apocalyptic sort of way, but then I'm sure FO 1 and 2 were done in the same way, you know, what with being set in a nuclear wasteland!

Just searching around the landmarks, I saw loads of little things that were amazing and haunting all at the same time: the toy factory with teddy bears arranged with booze and needles sticking out of them, the recordings of a family when the bombs dropped, the office block overrun with ghouls that had gone crazy for some cultist plinth in the basement. and none of those are even related to the proper quests...

Plus what with being in the 21st century, we have graphics engines now that are actually quite good, so we can actually physically walk around america's bombed-out capital and see the ruins of what used to be a proud city. kind of adds to the feel of a game when you can climb the shell of the monument and see the mess of trenches running to the capital building.

and of course gary-vault- 'gaaaarryy...GARY!' fuck yeah!

OT- I reckon more of a focus on any allies you pick up, make them more than just mindless idiots that follow you around and attack anything they see (usually getting themselves killed in the process). and is it too much to ask to make them able to follow you properly? I just jumped off this rock without any harm, so surely you can do the same, you retarded great lump of super mutant sh...sorry.

some upgraded form of V.A.T.S.
Like where you can target specific limbs with melee weapons, you know, for kicks and giggles.

...and a crap load of follower possibilities, and I don't mean like ten or something, I want a wide variety of interesting follower possibilities.
Ah yes...and they have to possess some intelligence...that...would be nice.

Less bitching and moaning about fallout 3 and Bethesda.... More people getting out of the mid 90's...

I was offended when Nintendo made Mario 3D from a 2D platformer but you don't see me bitching and moaning about it...

Get the fuck over it....

BTW Lulz at Obsidian.... Shows great promise *cough*
Good for you xD

I just played it at a Games Convenction and skipped it altogether, waiting for them to come to their senses and they did... hurray New Super Mario Bros. Wii :p

I might still play Galaxy at some point when I'm Ultra-bored.

And I don't know what you're trying to say about Obsidian, but they actually did make great games e.g.: Neverwinter Nights 2 + Add-Ons, KOTOR2 and are working on "Alpha Protocol"...

They also got some of the veterans that worked on some of the best RPGs ever in existence: Fallout 1+2, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale 1+2 and they also worked on the Baldur's Gate Trilogy together with Bioware...

Only question for me is if they can use that creativity and make something great or if there's guys from Bethesda looking over their shoulders saying stuff like: "TALK!? Whatdda ya mean TALK? You don't TALK to bad guys you BLOW EM UP! Oh and by the way, there's not enough LIMBS flying around, would you kindly add a few?" and "Are you guys STUPID? Why would you waste 3 weeks of development time making a DUNGEON?!? Just use that Premade Warehouse Layout, put a few enemies in and they won't notice!".

The only thing Bethesda is good at (imo) is creating big worlds using an insane amount of Randomizing Algorithms, creating stiff soulless characters to populate it with and filling it with a few dozen uninspired "Kill those", "Collect that" quests. They always feel like MMOs to me... without the fun parts like doing hard Instances in a group with your friends or talking to people...
Fallout 1+2 (while having low quality pixel graphics) filled the world it had with more life and "personality" in a single area than Fallout 3 has combined xD
and the fallout3 troll of the year award goes to... Dexter111, the winner of fallout 1 and 2 raving fanboy of the century award!

but anyway, I just want to see a little more variety with the set pieces and voice actors, and vehicles would be good if they add fuel.

Fallout 3, with co-op , and new weapons, and quests.
V.A.T.S, this time get rid of the AP. :/
Also, I think the cheats should be removed. They get rid of the fun in Fallout 3.

I want some crazy new enemies, not just rehashes, awesome Boss fights like actual boss fights, and maybe some cool special powers.

Basically more like Fallout 1+2, less like Fallout 3 (or Oblivion) I don't have my hopes high though even though its being developed by Obsidian...
That is what I want. Fallout 1 or 2 with good graphics, not Oblivion with guns. Don't get me wrong, FO3 was a decent enough game I guess, it just didn't feel like Fallout to me.

None degradable equipment.
Or at least let players beable to fully repair them on our own at a material cost or using a medium sized chest of caps to pay to repair them.

Also It'd be nice to have a history as a raider or be a ghoul for varied npc interactions. (Though being a former raider doesn't mean you were a jerk savage like in Fallout 3 just that you have better interactions with certain raider camps, have a few different allies in the story/side quests or something.)

What changes and additions do you want to see? Any special features?

Personally I want to be able to walk around vegas, gamble, go to clubs and see land marks.
Perhaps they could add some vehicles to the game, with limited fuel supply so you can't just drive them all the time.
There are fully customizable vehicles.
Have you even read up on the game at all?
Jamesigh said:
maybe i slight variation in the environment, LOTS MORE voice actors...

ah, just thinking about it, i'm probably not going to play it. Fallout 3 was a great game but i can't imagine Vegas bringing enough changes for me to bother paying for it.
For fuck sake, READ UP ON THE GAME.
I just want Co-op.
To be fair, I think most people can't be arsed to read up about it. That's why they're HERE.
