Well, there goes one month of my life. Ahh Fallout, how I love thee. I have enjoyed all the Fallouts, I've no doubt I'll love this one as well. More post apocalyptic training for me!

While this is good news, I can't help but feel like I'm going to wind up letting so much of that explorable area go to waste. The problem I had with FO3 (and Oblivion before that) was that past a certain point there was no reason to explore all of those empty buildings/dungeons/caverns. They all wind up blending together and becoming essentially the same place with a different layout.

Now, if they have something interesting behind them like that one in FO3 where you find the audio logs of that guy as he's searching for his dad only to find him as a feral ghoul in the very bottom, then that's good and it's worth exploring. But for me personally if it's like all the other random buildings in FO3 then I'll probably be limiting my time spend looking around.

Ugh, this is going to be awesome. Just hope it isn't as much of a letdown as Fallout 3 (There was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more hype than it deserved). But from the article; it sounds like it will have the needed changes to make for a wonderful game.

You know what. That's a good thing that it will take such a long time to explore.IT give the player more stuff to do over the course of the game.

Big deal. Fallout 3 took close to hundred-odd hours to fully explore. And guess what. Most of it was boring empty space with nothing to do.
This.

I rarely traveled past the riverbanks or Vault 101, just because it was so boring to look at. "Oh, more rubble and scrap metal. Interesting."

Whereas in Oblivion, you could be walking up a hill and find that there's a humongous waterfall on the other side.

If Bethesda emulates Bioware in any shape or form in New Vegas, I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

I'm hoping it'll turn me onto the Fallout series (F3 was a giant let down for me, sadly).

In my case it's more because I've played all 3 of the STALKER series. THAT is how you do open-world-lots-to-explore stuff as far as I'm concerned.

Are those easy to run? I bought an HP laptop, and I can run Dragon Age (though not super fast on the highest setting), and I feel like I'm missing out by mostly buying console games.

On a side note, I'm really stoked for Metro 2033.

"Easy run to run" is kinda hard to define. I run an AMD XP 2600+, 2 gig ram and a 1 gig ATI HD 4650 graphics card and it DOES run good (with my mid-range graphics settings) BUT the engine itself isn't the best and hitches a bit on my system (Call of Pripyat, the new one, runs the best by FAR but has a few hitches with me.) But I enjoy the games so much I can put up with it. And the mod community have put out several graphical upgrade/tweak mods that are worth checking out. (For example, if you wanna try the original Call of Chernobyl game, it is WELL worth installing the Complete 2009 mod before you even try it the first time.)

I hope I can use the V.A.T.S. in the casinos, to see which place has the best chance of winning/payout value ^-^

And suddenly I went from "I don't care" to "Hundreds of hours, holy shit, I WANT!!!" Yeap, I know what I'll be playing this fall. That is, if it's not delayed.

However, we shouldn't be too quick to judge. It wouldn't be the first time that a developer would overreact about something.

Or Laurence Fishburne as a CSI?
I would laugh. So so so hard. Please Bethesda, make Fishburne do a voice-over, for the sheriff or something.

I...can't help it.....getting....optimistic....about....game....

I hope and I pray this turns out to be better than Fallout 3 (which was pretty damn good) in every way!

Otherwise I will be, in Pimppeter2's words, a sad banana.
OK, try to be annoyed.

Think of bad games. VERY bad games. Now imagine Fallout: New Vegas being that.

It kinda works, and you'd be really surprised when it is very good! Maybe.

Can we at least get a car or some form of transportation in this one? If part of my 100 hours will be moving on foot through a desert, I'm not counting that as fun playing time.
