as long as it isn't as buggy/glitchy as 3 was i'd be more then happy, everything else would just be icing on the cake.

It's an Obsidian game, running in a Bethesda engine. You wonder if it will be buggy? Every time the game messes up, take a shot. You'll be promptly hammered.

This post got me laughing... I have a sore throat at the moment.

is then Fallout 3' with no relation to Fallout 3 what so ever is definitely an expansion.

Then why isn't it called Fallout 4?

Because a game doesn't need a number in it to be a sequel?

I actually like games that use innovative titles like this one instead of just taking a sequential number at the end to denote a sequel. It feels less like we can expect more of the same and more like this takes place in the Fallout universe but will be different enough from the rest of the series.

I think it will be amazing. But I don't know if it can achieve the same level of ecstasy I got when I first played Fallout 3.

And after logging 700+ hours on that game, I've sought so hard to recover that feeling, but I never will... I never will...

Now, you make the claim that a game made in 1998 is BETTER than Fallout 3. I find it surprising you can even compare two games that were made a decade apart from each other. Probably the only reason you say F2 is better is because you played it as a child. You now feel nostalgic whenever you think about it, and as time goes on you idealize the game and make it seem better than the pixelated nightmare that it really is.

Have I done a sufficient job reminding you, or do you want me to dedicate my afternoon to pleasing you?

Making the assumption that a game must be bad because it is old? Clearly you are a genius whose logic is unquestionable.

PS: I played Fallout 1/2 after Fallout 3... and I still preferred them.

I can't wait for it. Fallout 3 is my favorite game so I'm pretty excited for Fallout: New Vegas. It seems like it is gonna be even better than Fallout 3.

Okay, I'm sick of fanboys crying about how "Bethesda fucked up Fallout". Let's see, combat, F1-2 had turn based combat and had "dice rolls" for hit or miss, sure you could try VATS but it was still the same dice rolling crap, the winner was usually the guy with the better gun. Fallout 3 had real time combat, could pause to let the player pick body parts to cripple enemies to great effect, being less rigid meant more strategies could be incorporated, stealth may not be great but it's there, unlike 1-2 where you generally were not given said option in combat.

Graphics, 3d vs 2d who wins? Gameplay, F3 is much more action packed and can keep your attention longer than F1 or 2, I'd rather have an easier FPS than an unforgiving, isometric, turn based shooter. Story wise is where a tie comes in. You may get more backstory and sub-plots in F1-2, but in the end all the stories are rather simple and straightforward. Not much in the way of plot characters either.

Take off your damn nostalgia glasses, the only reason people who loved F1-2 like F:NV better than F3 is because some Obsidian employees are from Black Isle. God damn does it feel good to get that off my chest.

The only way New Vegas could be worse than FO3 is if they didn't have RON PEARLMAN in it. Is he in it? Its absolutley vital that the world knows.

I am excited but I might just wait for some reviews and general reaction to the game from people before I make a decision to purchase it.

Loved at the 3 Fallout games so I'll probably end up getting in the end regardless.
