Im just wondering
Is there any major differences between them?
Or does fallout tactics just continue the story and play like regular fallout games?
Id appreciate any answers.
Im gonna either buy Fallout 1 & 2 Or the Fallout Ultimate Collection, but the collection costs about double yet comes with Tactics.

Fallout tatics allows you similir Fallout gameplay but its more turn based stratagy, but you can choose your race and SPECIAL stats, still very little is RPG. Fallout 2 is a bigger, better, and much more fun and imersive Fallout game than the first. Although I have both games I could only play Fallout 2 because something was wrong with the tatics disk, so I had to go on Wikipedia for information.

Edit: Tatics is not canon and 20$ for all three games is a deal for such good classic games. So I recomend buying the collection.

Fallout Tactics has nothing to do with Fallout 1 or Fallout 2. Fallout Tactics is a turn-based strategy game, it's not an RPG. If you've played the classic X-Com games you'll know what I mean.

By the way all those games cost USD 5,99 at GOG.com [http://www.gog.com/en/search/sort/search/fallout] so you might want to consider getting them there. My advise would be to only get Fallout 2.

Well I played the PS2 version of Fallout Tactics, and no it was very different from previous Fallout games. For one, you didn't get to create your own character, you had to choose between 3 premade characters. Also the game play seemed more 3rd person then the uh... what's the term for that? isometric? the top down view anyway, of Fallouts 1&2. Again this was the PS2 version, I don't know if the PC version is any different. I got the Fallout Ultimate Collection myself of Steam, but I haven't decided whether to actually install Tactics.

The postage cost to sweden would be extremely expensive.
And im not only getting Fallout 2.
Im getting fallout 1 & 2 atleast.
But I guess Fallout Tactics isnt worth it then.
Is there any lan/co-op/online on Fallout Tactics?

tactics is a very different game to fallout 1 + 2

tactics is pretty much unrelated to the storyline of the previous games and is more tactical combat than rpg. it's still good, but don't expect it to be anything like the other games.

hope this helps with your decision =)

fallout 2 - still the best game in the series

Actually, that's 'Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel' you're thinking of.
Tactics was never on the consoles.

GOG.com is a download site: you pay $5.99 and you download the game instantly. No extra costs.

Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics have as much plot in common as Fallout 2 and Fallout 3. They both take place in a post nuclear apocalyptic desert.

The gameplay is sort of similar, but Fallout Tactics isn't really focused on turn based combat, and more focused on tactical combat, like those old Ogre Tactics games from back in the day.

So does it work like steam or is it a one time download?

Fallout Tactics was made by another developer and is a squad tactics RTS. It also isn't seen as being "canon" unlike Fallout 2 if that matters to you although some of the stuff in Fallout 2 is so crazy I can't see why anyone would care.

I enjoyed Fallout Tactics, combat is far supperior to any of the other games excluding Fallout 3, combat realy is what the game is all about.
Its Non-Cannon so doesnt follow the same story line and RPG is limited to either completing the secondary objectives or ignoring them and completing just the main one.

I would highly recommend the Ultimate pack, thats what ive got and its great to have all of them together.

If you have any specific questions about the game i can answer them.

Fallout Tactics isn't like any of them. If you have played Jagged Alliance 2 then it is a little like that but if you haven't then get a digital download of Jagged Alliance 2 Gold as it is so much better than Fallout Tactics that I would bust an internal organ laughing at you for buying the wrong game. Or maybe not. I'm just trying to emphasis the point that it is better.

I havent Played online so i have no clue about that.

RPG as i said is basicaly completing secondary Missions, essentialy "do i save those people or ignore them and complete my objective". Karma goes up if you do them and you get special bonuses, but they take longer and are risker.

Fallout: Tactics is, well... more tactical and less RPGish, while Fallout 2 is more open-world and RPGish.
