These days most games are so "cinematic" already when it comes to story telling and visuals movies just become redundant whether you're going from game to movie or movie to games. I'd be more interested in a Bioshock movie just because of the big daddies and Rapture are interesting concepts.

Yes if they do the exact storyline from fallout 3 only movie-like.

Because there is a diffrence between Gamers and Movie-Go-ers.
WHAT
I am just saying even if fallout movie storyline is the same as fallout 3 alot of people would go see. (gamers would see how they did it)(movie-go-ers will see it because it's a movie and if it is done well it would do awesome.)

I'd like to see a movie adaptation on the first Fallout Game, it's a game that looks like it could adapt well into a movie.

or they could not base that movie on a specific Fallout game, and make a movie concerning the last adventures of an old-aged Vault Dweller, it could go with the Vault Dweller leaving Arroyo and ended up kidnapped by Enclave, only to later escape and find himself in a part of the Wasteland far from the area where Arroyo was, and then have the Vault Dweller go on a quest to find out what the Enclave are up to.

at least, I think that's how I'd do it.

I will say this this once.

There can never EVER EVER be a movie made out of a game where you create a character and then resume to be a part of the world. I.e. fallout, elder scrolls or anything in that area.

It would simply be a bad movie that ruins a good game.

Certainly an interesting prospect. You really can't make the movie directly about any of the Fallout games. It just wouldn't work. How would you like to see the bomb in megaton disarmed, knowing that you chose to blow that crappy little junkpile off the face of the planet? No, it just doesn't work well to adapt a direct game --> movie script from a game that thrives on choices and multiple playthroughs.

What does the Fallout series have that would make a good movie though? You have these amazing factions to work with. You've got the Brotherhood of Steel focusing on technology, the Enclave trying to 'rebirth' America and wipe out Mutants. You even have the groups of raiders just preying on whoever they can, and regular folks just fighting for survival. You've got vault dwellers and mutants, ghouls struggling with racism and bigotry.

Fallout is defined by factions and characters that really flesh the story out into a fantastic world. But how did these factions come to life? How did it all really start? Who pushed the button that started it all? What were the direct consequences of the choices all those people made in the moments that lead up to the great war?

I would love to see a movie that showed how the timeline changed, and how the world of fallout was up to and directly after the bombs dropped. The people , the factions and the choices they struggled with both before and after the great war.

Give one good reason for making it a movie. There really is no point to do it. If they want to know the plot of the video game they should play the game. Even linear games need that interactivity to provide a good experience.

However if a movie maker is inspired by Fallout 3 and makes a original movie about a nuke hitting the US and a person is forced to survive with the little resource he finds in the wasteland then that could be a good movie.

A great movie could come out of the Fallout universe, I'm sure, as long as whoever made it actually stayed true to the series rather than Hollywood clichés. No romantic sidestory, no name for the main character etc. I think I would rather see it as an indie movie to be honest, Hollywood would surely fuck it up. :/

I like the non-linearality of Fallout. Fitting a 30 hour campaign into 2 hours...meh. I'd be curious to see how it went.

Do you think this adaption could work well.
Just watch book of Eli,
It's all you really need in a post apocalyptic world, no need for aliens and gigantic mutants
