I'm too cynical to be a fanboy.

(But it doesn't stop me from having the occasional relapse for any and all half-ambitious games to make a noticeable blip on the internal radar.)

VALVe. Mostly the HL series (if we can indeed include Portal in that list), but TF and L4D are pretty good, too. (Strangely, not a real fan of TF2. Kind of annoying IMO)

And Lord of the Rings. (The books/movies/RTS', etc)

I have been accused of being a Sonic fanboy on multiple occasions but if that was the case I wouldn't be able to recognize the faults in some of the more recent games.

I am I fighting game fanboy.

"Oh, there's no story!"
"You just sit there fighting again and again!"
"Have fun sitting there learning to string stupid combos together all day!"

Don't care, don't care, and I will. I know a lot of people don't care for fighters, and that they can even be called a dying genre, but I still loves me some fighting games. I think they're the ones that have suffered the most with arcades dying and online play thriving.
