Of Mice and Men (I've only seen the Gary Sinise/John Malkovich version, so I don't know whether the others are any good)

I liked the Dantes Inferno adaptation done a few years ago, realy well done modernized version of the poem. And also I liked 1408, I thought the story was really interesting, very lovecraft esque, except for the ending.

Fight club is one of my favourite films of all time. Haven't read the book. What I have been told though is that as a medium, film worked a lot better for fight club as it was a very visual experience.

I should probably go & get the book then watch the film again. That way I could compare the two
I found it worked brilliantly as a book even though I knew the twist at the end. Even if you're one of the many Escapists I've noted who somehow don't have the patience for novels (it's a short one though) make damn certain to read chapter 6. It's eight pages and it was originally a short story that the whole rest of the book/film expanded from.
Tell me the book is worth reading & i'll read it. Books are not about patience in my eyes. I was always worried about reading the book & it not being up to the standards I'd set for myself with the film.

I'm not looking for your forgiveness, you don't even have an apology...

If you want to question my opinions about a book or film you clearly don't understand, do so without resorting to such abhorent flaming behaviour.

If you can't handle that, I suggest you fuck off back to youtube.
:) dont understand... wow... had to do a 20 page essay on it... got a C but i really do understand it
So you claim to understand it, wrote a 20 page essay on it and the best possible critique of it you have is...

its about a bunch of near naked kids slapping eachother for fun of it. and! the author was a rapist!
Like, I said... Fuck off back to youtube...
What this guy said. Trolls are not welcome here

Edit:also sorry about the "technical double post"

The Books weren't terreble, The Goblet of Fire was great but I think it started to take itself to seriously after that.

I've read most of Stephen King's books and watched most films based on them. In my opinion the best adaptions were The Green Mile (excellently captured the spirit of the book(s)), The Shining (pretty different from the book, but that was one of the things that made it so great), The Mist (I already really liked the short story and the movie was pretty much of the same quality, only with a new and very unexpected ending). I personally wouldn't count the Shawshank Redemption because the film actually exceeded the original story by far.

Was it galaxy? I'm not sure since I read the dutch translation.
Yeah, it's galaxy - have you read The Long, Dark, Tea-Time of the Soul by Douglas Adams as well? I'd recommend it if you haven't.
I'm not sure, I know I've read at least the first 2 books in the series.
It's not in the same series as Hitchhiker's Guide, it's separate but also very good :)
