Playing on 360. You have to drive to a safehouse or gun shop every 5 minutes as there is no autosave or checkpoint system. I am well capable of reading a manual, thank you very much!ActionDan said:There is a Quick save Op. F5 or F6. Doesn't anyone read manuals!? Or aren't you playing it on PC?
I didn't see anything wrong with Farcry 2. I got Heavily immersed into it. Like when you sprint and after a while you get tired and stuff gets blurry, I was actually blinking in real life.
Yeah I haven't tried thatone yet as I love my carl G too much... I am basically a demented explosives addict in Far Cry 2, I go around with the Massive automatic grenade launcher which is so overpowered it's almost broken (deteriorates mighty quick though), the Uzi or mini grenade launcher and the Carl G rocket launcher.Wadders said:miracleofsound said:I'm happy to report to you then that I finally went back to it and forced myself to play it, and I am enjoying it a lot more.Wadders said:This has cemented my belief that I am the only person in the world who likes Far Cry 2.
To me, the game is what you make of it. If you don't expect too much, experiment and dick about, then if you're like me you will have fun. If you accept it for what it is - a sandbox with story added for the hell of it - then its actually a really fun game.
If you expect it to be rich in story, side quests, unlocks and all that stuff, then you will be disappointed. Personally I loved feeling like nasty merc chappie, playing both sides of the factions, exploring the different areas and finding weird and wonderful ways to kill stuff.
But if you don't like it now, chances are the rest of the game wont make you change your tune.
Once you unlock the grenade launcher and some decent assault rifles the game becomes a lot more fun, and much easier, as long as you keep going to the gunshops and stocking up between weapons.
I'm 5 missions from the end now and still having fun, though the respawning guard posts are still driving me insane.
Wow, this is a blast from the past. So glad to hear you've stuck at it and realised how fun it is, despite its flaws![]()
And I agree about the weapon unlocks. The beginning weapons are very mundane, but once you get to roll the big guns out, stuff can get really quite interesting. As you said, grenade launcher abuse is just too much fun to be allowed. I also have a soft spot for the dart rifle though, which is kinda the opposite end of the spectrum![]()
God bless any game that lets you carry 3 different explosive weapons...
