It has to be Tali's. The implications of your actions there will surely have huge implications on the 3rd game. Even Tali's zealous hatred of the Geth can be placated when she and legion face off. It makes me think that they and the Geth could even be allies.

I'm rambling. In short I just love the quarians. They are my favourite race by far.
But is that not just Battlestar Galatica syndrome ?
No idea what you're on about.
Bit of a joke, see quarians are the race of beings which were kicked off their homeworld by the race of machines who rebelled and now live in a fleet of ships. You know, the plot to battlestar galatica...
As ashamed I am to say it on this site...

I've never seen battlestar galactica.
*High five* Me neither. I hear the ending's shit though, so that might not be a bad thing.
yea ending was really good right until the final conclusion, then its like....goddamnit...

EDIT: though to be fair they did point to this repeatedly throughout the series.

Jack's.

Because she's the only character that isn't completely one-dimensional, and her loyalty mission shows why.
If you played Mordin's loyalty mission and think he's one-dimensional, you're either an idiot or weren't paying attention.

I could probably say the same for a few other characters, but Mordin's the one who stands out most to me.

I liked Jacob's, Tali's, and Grunt's. The backstories involved were actually interesting and you got to be a badass and let those who deserve it get their comeuppance.

Tali's and Legions. I do them back to back because they are so closely tied together and so closely tied to the overall plot of Mass Effect, whereas most of the other characters just have their little "betrayal! omg!" loyalty quest that doesn't impact the story.

Oh, and because Tali's has Aeryn Sun and Kain in it. So her's wins automatically.

Samara's - beating those turians up in the club was awesome. I love how it's very easy to fuck up while talking to Morinth. I nailed it in the first try, but most of my friends couldn't complete it. I love the dialogue-only missions, a nice change of pace.

Jack's - Even though you only have to fight a couple of varren, the mission had a great impact on me. I felt a bit disturbed throughout the whole quest. And the end cutscene...

Miranda's - It's hard to not like the quest of your favourite squadmate. The moment when she speaks to her sister hit me hard.

Garrus had an awesome one too. That headshot was poetry in motion.

Tali's one was great, but it was ruined by the fact that I completely hate her.

You know, it's easier to divide by zero than choose my favourite.

Grunt, without a shadow of a doubt.

The setting, the visuals, the dustcouds swirling around you, the giant ground pounding device hammering and sending echoes through the ruined cities...

It was completely epic, in the proper sense of the word.

Plus, you got to headbutt a Krogan.

I'm not sure if I can really decide my favorites because they all had certain elements that made them completely awesome.

Zaeed: This one was great because you get to see why Zaeed is who he is, and it offers a great paragon/renegade choice that really makes you realize what you've done.
Miranda: Finally, she becomes a human being instead of "bawww, my daddy made me perfect." Getting her to talk to her sister at the end was very touching.
Jacob: The pacing of this mission was great and talking to his father was quite interesting.
Garrus: This one was simply badass, ranging from kicking the hell out of Harkin to deciding whether Garrus should kill Sidonis. It really shows a different side to Garrus's personality.
Jack: Very touching and disturbing mission and it does a great job of humanizing her instead of "I'm a cold hearted *****" 24/7
Mordin: One of the best character missions I've ever played, I honestly didn't see this one coming. It does a complete turn-around for his character as you realize there's a LOT to him and his internal conflict is raging.
Tali: My favorite loyalty mission for the emotional impact. Getting to see Quarian culture is one thing, but seeing how much Shepard and Tali mean to each other is incredibly heartwarming. Adding on the fact you can call the Admiralty Board out on their bullshit and learn more about the Quarian and Geth means this is a recipe for success.
Thane: I liked this one because it was a big departure from the others. The Good Cop/Bad Cop scene was expertly handled and the final confrontation with Thane's son is very touching.
Grunt: This one is badassery in mission form. Headbutting a Krogan to taking down a Thresher Maw on foot, this is the definition of "testosterone-filled action." Oh, and I got to see Wrex again.
Samara: I liked this one for the same reason I liked Thane; it's very different and the final confrontation is nothing short of epic.
Legion: I liked legion's because it starts out as a balls to the wall shooting match, then presents an incredibly heavy moral choice at the end. Can't wait to see how that impacts ME3

Honestly, while I think Tali's mission is the best, ALL of them have extraordinary aspects and the best character development I've ever seen. Taken as a whole, it's a masterpiece of storytelling.

Miranda's for the Mass Effect elevator references.
I was wondering if anyone else had spotted that...

'Dammit, why won't this thing go any faster!'

Made me chuckle.

Actually, if you take Tali and Garrus to the Citadel and walk up the stairs you'll get a very funny dialogue between those two where Garrus teases Tali about whether she missed all the elevator riding.

I really liked Mordin's mission because of the tough moral choices and possible implications in ME3 depending on the outcome of the mission. Also, the scene at the beginning of the quest when Shepard says "You talk too much." and burns the krogan warlord alive by igniting gas is quite memorable.
That scene was either hilarious or awfully disturbing, I can't quite decide which...

And welcome to the Escapist, may you enjoy your stay.

Tali's for a lot of reasons mentioned already. You get to see the migrant fleet, you get some sweet Geth combat, and some emotional moments, plus Shepard can get all litigious in the courtroom.

One thing I didn't get about Garrus' Loyalty mission was there wasn't really a chance to find out Sidonis' side of things before deciding to let Garrus blow his head off. You have to make the choice of not wanting to kill Sidonis before he has his chance to explain his side of the story, and nothing in the storyline suggests that he didn't sell out Garrus and his men just for money. Near as I can tell about the paragon ending Sidonis "feels bad" about the incident, but other than "Let him live a good life" there doesn't seem to be any punishment for him.

I played my Shepards as mostly Paragon, but I have no problem taking the renegade options when the NPC I'm dealing with is an ass, and I don't have a paragon choice. (The game isn't KoTOR so there's no loss of Paragon-ness if I get Renegade points.) Generally I'm nicer to my Crew, mostly because I need their help in the long run.

As for favorite missions: For a combat experience Grunt's Mission was awesome. Tali's mission I liked for where it happened. Legion's mission was interesting because you found more about how the Geth worked. Samara's mission had the best ending with her "Peace of the Goddess"-line.

Jack's backstory was interesting because it made me wonder if there was a deliberate connection to Mass Effect Ascension at all.

God, I can't decide... I adored them all. Well, then I'll give my least favorite: Miranda. Simply because I never really liked her that much, and the fighting in her quest was good, but not as good as it could have been.

Mordin: because it brought to light the different sides to the genophage argument, plus the Krogan + fire moment made me laugh.
Jacob: because it actually made Jacob interesting! The environment was gorgeous, but kind of haunting. Plus the plot was awesome.
Garrus: I adore Garrus and anything related to him. Plus, his mission showed that he wasn't just all business, he also wanted revenge.
Samara: It was a very nice change in pace from all the fighting. Plus it made me feel like some kind of super-seduction/spy, searching for my target, drawing her out... Fun!
Tali: I finally got to see the Migrant Fleet, which made me ridiculously happy. Plus, playing lawyer was really fun.
Grunt: The fighting was frantic and fun. Plus, I got to see Wrex again, and I finally got to beat the Thresher Maw!
Thane: Same as Samara as far as the change in pace. Plus the "good cop, bad cop" routine was gold.

If you check out galaxy news you can hear a report that mentions that Sidonis walked into C-Sec and confessed to the murders of 10 men on Omega. That mission was particularly tense, I only warned him because I didnt want Garrus to walk down that path.

OT: The interrogation in Thanes mission was masterfully done, I play as a paragon but decided to be the bad cop, punched him twice, held back at the third and charmed my way to victory.

Tali's quest is my favourite because of all the emotion and character interaction, also feel that it compliments the romantic relationship (if you choose her).

I remember in Tali's mission when you talked to the Admiral Koris or whatever his name was, he has a ship named Qwib-Qwib (So, [something]'Koris vas Qwib-Qwib) and when you ask him about it, he says that the name stuck because it wasn't easy to change the registration number, but he also says "We can't all serve on ships with great names such as Defrahnz and Iktomi" and it took me a minute but then I just burst out laughing and just thought "well played Bioware, well played."

Koris vas Defrahnz, or Koris vas Iktomi....vas deferans and vasectomy

Zaeed. Because whatever path you take, renegade or paragon, you'll be entertained. Either by Zaeed's sheer badassery or by quietly giggling to yourself as he throws a hissy fit as Vido fliiiiees away. ^_^

Mordin's was really good though. You got to see a whole new side to his character.
