I'm curious what everyone's favorite achievement or the one they found the most challenging. Name of the achievement, list of the game, what it requires, and why(if you want).

My favorite: Vasily Lives!, Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, "As a normal soldier, pick up an
ENEMY sniper rifle and get 10 kills before dying."

As I hate all achievements indiscriminately, my answer to this is: none. I've never gotten the point of them, whenever possible I ignore them or sometimes I go out of my way to not gain any during normal gameplay.

And that is bloody hard. Seriously. Try completing any game these days without getting at least one achievement (even if you exclude plot-related ones!)

Going by time spent trying to achieve it, I'll have to go with "Nothing Special" on Left 4 Dead (I'm still trying to get it now) once I do get it I think it will be the pride of my achievement collection, if I get it...

I like my Killzone 2 Grand Valor Cross and Exemplar Soldier, you get them for being good online, considering i'm a crazy run around no scoping sniper its pretty difficult to achieve, you see people with the medals on KillZone tend to use LMG's.

I also have a love of the trophies that are along the lines of "Kill 3000 enemies", its like being a rampaging murderer.

My vote goes for "Easiest Achievement...Ever" (Press Start to Play)in The Simpsons The Game.
On a serious note: I never pay attention to achievements, so I have no clue what my favorite moment in a game was that caused an achievement to pop up.

Normally, I don't really like achievements they don't really add anything to the game. I really like the Guardin' Gnome achievement in L4D2 (PC). You had to bring a garden gnome all the way to the last level of Dark Carnival. I thought it was fun, and added a little challenge to campaign. I'd actually think it could be turned into a fun mode for campaign or versus; one of the mutations modes might be just that.

doing the Vidmaster: Annual for Halo 3... twice. the laughs we had were awesome. (involves completing the last level of Halo 3 in 4 player co-op Legendary, with the Iron Skull on, and all players must finish the level riding Ghosts)

All Medals and All Secrets for Ace Combat 6 by far were the most challenging, particularly getting the Gunslinger medal (complete the campaign using only the plane's gun), in the Aigaion mission the target area to finish off the carrier is insanely small, even Luke Skywalker would have trouble bullseyeing that one.

I generally don't care much for achievements unless they are a challenge and sound interesting. The one I'm most proud of is Real Time in FEAR. (Beat the game without using slo-mo) FYI that is ABSURDLY HARD.

Vidmaster Challenge: Deja Vu is probably my favourite achievement in the history of Halo.

The player, along with three friends, have to complete Coastal Highway on 4-player Legendary Live co-op, with the Iron skull on, and without using the 'Hog or Scorpion.

Anyone who has done the Vidmaster Challenge: Annual knows how painful that one was, and also knows that four Ghosts will spawn once you kill 343 Guilty Spark and leave the building, which is the only way to complete the level with the achievement.

In ODST, with the Iron skull on Legendary, the game spawns four 1,000 shot Rocket Launchers, along with a Mongoose for each player in the first tunnel on the highway. The Rocket Launchers are separate weapons to the normal 8 shot Rocket Launchers, allowing the player to have two Rocket Launchers on his person at once.

What makes this my favourite achievement is the fact that it's so satisfying to be in a squad of four other Rocket Launcher toting people running down a highway destroying everything in your path.

At the end, you'll come to a building that you have to defend. This wouldn't be so hard if everyone didn't have Rocket Launchers. >:^D

We only died at that part because we got bored when we hit checkpoints and started firing at each other.

I absolutely loved the ending to Halo 3 and the same goes for the ending to ODST. If Bungie can do something more fun than that at the end of Reach, I will eat one of my computer speakers.

I really liked ODST's Vidmaster: Endure. Mostly because it really got down to the wire at a couple of points and the shared triumph in victory at the end was really great.

Infamous - Platinum trophy - Get all other trophies

It's the only game where I've bothered to go for platinum and one of the two only games which I've bothered to 100%

Why post on a fave achievement thread then?

Thats a fair post for a achivements good or bad post, but daft for noe that assumes you like them.

On Topic: Guardin' Gnome is indeed a goody, Warm coffe made me laugh when I got it, In general I like those that reward doing something different, especially if they have witty names.

Name wise

Royal With Cheese - complete the burger town mission in Moderwarfare 2. the name of the achievment was from pulp fiction.

Irony wise

Welcome to soulcaliber - watch the opening cinamatic to soulcaliber 4, easy right?..... I did not get that achievment for like 6 months.

Left the House!

What should totally be an achiement list.....

90 hour game, 2 achievments..... 1st achiement = beat training 999g, 2nd achievment beat the game on the hardest difficulty 1g. your quest for 1000g would kill you.

Little Rocket Man
Orange Box, Half Life 2: Episode 2.

Use the Gravity Gun to carry a Garden Gnome through more than 90% of the episodes content; without loosing it out of that god awful car that Gordon Freemen gets. XD
My favourite by far, especially when you see the rocket launch. *waves tearful, happy goodbye to the long treasured friend*

Definately Guardin' Gnome, from L4D2.

You have to get the Gnome from a carnival game, and carry it to the end of the campaign.

It's insane

The achievement for killing 20 unbaptized babies in Dante's Inferno made me giggle a bit.

For me, the original Bad Companys Darwins Parachute, so funny getting that. Funnier still to 'help' others get it.
